My friend is passing his vacation in Canada and will return to Brazil in february. I'm thinking to ask him to buy a xbox 360 for me. So, I have some questions: A canadian xbox 360 console will play NTSC US games? They are the same "region"? Every Canadian game will have french and english languages? How hard to buy one console in canada?
1) Canadian Consoles are USA Consoles. There is nothing different. Even the boxes are the same. 2) Canadian Games are NTSC-U. The only difference is they sometimes shrink rap a french manual on top of the package (because of retards in quebec) 3) Its pretty hard to get a 360 in canada atm. Your friend might get lucky if he hits a bestbuy/futureshop/walmart at the right time. 4) If he is in montreal, he better go have some guiness before leaving!! pub:
Xbox 360 in Canada I have yet to see any of the consoles sitting in stores so it's unlikely he'll find one but yeah they are the same as the US ones. As for seperating Quebec, good luck with that...
Hmmmm thoughts are tollfree, and why not let Quebec get themself a little state in the country of Canada ?
I am starting to see Xbox 360s around here alot actually. La Baie and Zellers have them in stock near me. Clarity act will make it impossible for us to seperate anyway. The whole yes campaign is based on lies and deception.
Its not because i dont like canadians, its because i dont like what they are saying about us. I felt very insulted by subie's comment. Thats it. Oh, and That Federal politic, i cant stand it. Corrupted to the bone And no good alternative. but this is going too far, lets return on topic.
I seen a few 360's in the town of Burlington (5 to be exact) at the walmart, other than that, i have yet to see another... Ryan
Dont worry man, the whole american continent is ntsc/u , i think only sega had different versions for brazil because of pal-m?
Burlington? That's wierd cause I haven't seen any there or in Oakville where I live... Quebec is a province of Canada which is the closest thing to a state we have here. Their land mass would physically isolate the east coast of Canada if they were to seperate.
I seen them on, the 27 of december, they were just the core consoles.......the walmart near the costco.. ...confused... Ryan
cahaz, Please don't take my comment personal. It has nothing to do with quebecers or people living in quebec but more to do with the stupid laws quebec forces. I have nothing against pride or heritage but to force it down peoples throats because you are afraid it's diminishing is another thing. Truthfuly speaking. I love montreal & the people many times over better then southern california (I'm american, not canadian). Yet day by day, quebec tries harder and harder to force english out like it's a plage. Secondly, the gaming laws are retarded. Games are legaly required to have a french manual or packaging (even though the game has not a single word of french in it). On top of it when the law went into effect, stores started pulling most of their games at first since they could not sell it only to then later sell them again because if a customer complains about a game not being bilingual and the store is cought, they are only force to remove that game and not others untill a complaint is filed on every other game individualy. On top of all that the law does not apply to pc games (or atleast when it first started it did not). So now you have a double standard that is forced on console games yet not pc games. because of all this we have lost out on soo many special eds and bonuses because publishers did not care to go the extra mile just to put a limited print in french. So again, Please don't take my anti quebec as being against the people or its heritage, I am just not pleased with how the government of quebec handles things. Also FYI, j'étudie pour parle français. Je parle petit.
I was in Vancouver in September and noticed that they had different Xbox bundles (like a Forza Motorsport bundle before the US got one), but all the games on the shelves of EB looked identical to the ones you'd find in a US shop.
Np. sorry to any people from quebec for not making it clear the first time. I know i am not alone in my personal opinion because many of my friends here in montreal (french or english) feel the same way to some extent (it's just more so for me since I am not bilingual yet and am trying to learn as best as i can).
I don't even know why they create this "Brazil Region" thing, since every NTSC-U game will run on pal-m consoles. I also think any brazilian game will play fine on USA console. Anyone can confirm? Anyway, my friend will try to buy one for me :-D
