First of all greeting's this is a wonderful community you guys have here.

Well I have been living in Belgium for going on 3 years.I have never came across a used game shop or a gaming shop in general during my time here.I dont speak french and dont know any local gamers in my area.

I was wonder if you guys could point me in the direction of some shops.Pretty much in Belgium,Holland and Germany as those are the places I travel the most. Its been hard these last few years not shopping around and making awesome finds in shops.

    Thanks.

Is it really that bad over there? I mean, there isn't ANY place to get used games in Belgium? Damn. About the closest i've ever gotten to that area is Poland, and i didn't get to sight see very much.

I know of a place around Nancy, France, but that was back in 2001. It seems like antique stores there also contain "antique" video games, old skool stuff.

I don't remember how far it is from there to Belgium; it doesn't seem quite long of a drive, not?

I used to live in Belgium and there was a really nice place in the centre of brussels that did some nice Japanese stuff, it should still be there and it did some nice Japanese games. Other than that that there is a used Japanese book shop that is worth a visit.

So here is the address of the first place -

Rue Sainte Catherine 6 St. Katelijnestraat, bruxelles

They have another shop near Rue St.Genesse, and in antwerp.

But this was a while ago, I haven't been there for well over a year.

  6. Sorry to go slightly O.T but just wanted to say glad to see you now have a decent avator Mark, the Bimbo/Rambo one always depressed me.

The name WAS super dragon toys, near that chan chan place. Right near all those asian supermarkets etc. I don't know how good it will be as I haven't been recently. But it was very good on anime stuff at the very least and they had quite a few gaming books. Good luck!

As a Belgian, I do know of a few places where you can buy new/used games, both PAL as imports. ;)

Where do you live? Antwerp? Ghent? Brussels? Bruges? ...?

First of all, I'll list some of the major chains:

Gamemania (depending on the store they have rather nice selection of 2nd hand games, next to a nice selection of current titles)
Free Record Shop (they sell 2nd hand games since a short while now)
Bart Smit (many bargains to be had at times, GamePlaza and Christiaensens belong to this chain)
FNAC (Be on the lookout for their 'green prices' at times)
Extrazone (some bargains to be had, depending on the store)
MediaMarkt (only found in a few cities, Antwerp/Hasselt/Brussels I think, sometimes good deals to be had)

Then there's some supermarket chains that offer games as well, like Carrefour and Makro.

Finally, a few of the independant stores that have import games and offer retro stuff and such:

Super Dragon Toys (both in Antwerp as in Brussels)
Gizmoxia (situated in Ghent, good shop)
Shop Less Ordinary (situated in Antwerp, upstairs in the Sun Wah supermarket near the Astrid Plein)

All these shops have websites so google for them. ;)

if you live in Belgium you can come over to wonderful Germany and maybe try the following cities:

Aachen, Düsseldorf, Bonn, Köln, Dortmund, Oberhausen

all of them are near the border (in the Ruhrgebiet) and all of them have Retro/Games-Stores in the inner cities, just have a look :)

Nancy is about as far as driving to Paris from Belgium, so Paris would be a far better choice with nice shops like Tokyo Eyes (somewhere around La Défence). ;)
