i've got an older samsung lcd, with an rgb input. however, when i connect it, i can't choose, nor access the rgb anywhere.. what do? unless my whole life has been a lie, it should work on a lcd.. right? RIGHT? edit: trying to play the saturn..
Your TV is the issue. I've read a few times about people having issues with older Samsung flat pannel TVs and their RGB input. Mostly N64 related mind you. I wish I could hell but I have no idea how to fix the issues. The problem is caused by a weak signal from the console or more likely the TV needs a stronger signal to see the RGB device. Yakumo
You dont pick RGB, just select EXT1 (or which ever has RGB) and it will work as RGB if the cable/console supports it.
yup.. tried on another set and it works. however, upon playing, i think that the laser is getting rather slow/weak, i have only been able to try one game so far, and it might just be my copy, but since im unable to experiment more for a while: is there something i could try to improve the disc reading? some kind of orange thing.. ?
I have an older LCD Samsung, EXT1 is labeled as RGB on the back. However, you do not select RGB mode - basically that channel will use RGB if the source is RGB - otherwise it will use composite. You shouldn't have any problems. I have had loads of saturns with reading errors and were fixed with simply cleaning the lens with some IPA
more info on this? i've only played panzer dragoon so far, the gameplay works fine, so does the music, in the beginning. after having played for a while, the music start to disappear, then the disc drive makes a noise trying to read the disc, mostly with sucess, but it's annoying having the music getting quiet every 15 seconds or so, and sometimes it just doesn't load at all. it happens in any part of the game. nothing specific.
i'm getting disc read errors while playing backups, anyone would know if it's the disc drive or the the backups themselves.. a common problem perhaps? is there a fix? i'm unable to try with originals and determine if that's the issue since they are not with me at the time. edit: using verbatims.
"using verbatims" doesnt mean its going to work. For starters - some verbs are made in india and arent very good. Secondly, your writer pays a large part in how good the burn is, crappy writer = bad burns regardless of disc. Also, some writers that are good, just arent very good with some types of media. Its not as simple as "I'm using X, so it should work!"
Verbatim DVD+DLs are better than any other DVD+DL. Verbatim CD-Rs tend to be of low to mediocre quality around these parts. Get some Taiyo Yudens that are known to be good stuff and try again after verifying your burner is working properly. Or hell, MAM-As if you want to be paranoid. Like Bad_Ad84 said you can put top shelf oil into that engine but if one of the piston heads is cracked it won't really do you much good.
will try some taiyo yudens, singapore made verbatims, and some other.. still think it's the saturn itself though. thx all. how are these? http://www.meritline.com/jvc-cd-r-52x-silver-inkjet-printable-jcdrspysb---p-43161.aspx if there are "better" ones to be purchased online, link please (cost doesn't matter..)
the thing is that the games DO WORK, however any time during a load sequence there is a risk for it to fail and kick me back to the menu. it does not happen during any specific part. that tells me, while not being an expert, it's not the burning process. that's why i wondered if the media in use could be the problem or the laser (probably), before i try to find another saturn system.. i guess nothing can be certain without trial & error.
