I need to know a few things about the psx laser assembly and its model numers. Which model has the longest laser cable? Which laser assembly model (ie KSM 440ACM, etc) is of the highest quality? I remember that hte laser unit from the small PSOne is the best out of the bunch, is that true or is it some other model? ALSO. which part number is in the SCPH 5501 model? Thanks in advance!
The KSM-440ADM and KSM-440AEM both have long laser cables. KSM-440ADM is found in: SCPH-5500, SCPH-5501, SCPH-5502, SCPH-5552 KSM-440AEM is found in: SCPH-7000, SCPH-7001, SCPH-7002, SCPH-7003 SCPH-7500, SCPH-7501, SCPH-7502, SCPH-7503 SCPH-9000, SCPH-9001, SCPH-9002, SCPH-9003 I would avoid the first models: KSM-440AAM and KSM-440ACM (both have short cabel). The rest are pretty good I think. I would use the PSOne KSM-BAM laser in the following models (for it to fit you need to replace the BAM's top cover with a AAM/ACM top cover): SCPH-1000, SCPH-1001, SCPH-1002 SCPH-3000 SCPH-3500 SCPH-5000 SCPH-5903 DTL-H1000, DTL-H1001, DTL-H1002 DTL-H1100, DTL-H1101, DTL-H1102 DTL-H1200, DTL-H1201, DTL-H1202 DTL-H3000, DTL-H3001, DTL-H3002 KSM-440ADM, but you can use KSM-440AEM too. I'm bumping an oldddd thread here, but after trial and error the KSM-440AEM does not have a long enough cable for the SCPH-5501. So, the ADM has the longest cable. But there is a trick you can do to make the cable from the AEM reach for the laser connector on the SCPH-5501 model, but it involves removing the plastic cover.
