R.I.P Resistance

Cant believe it,but all 3 Resistance games are closed,thanks to sony..
Been playing Resistance 2 since october 2008 and now its all over...
That sucks,i am sad :-(

Anyone else played through the Resistance series?

 

From what i've read both games were "dead" online, specially the 3rd one. Online Passes surely didn't help it either.

Anyway, i think game companies should patch games to allow some sort of multiplayer even after servers are closed. I did play Resistance 3 SP at a Brasil Game Show and thought it was cool. But when i discovered it had 2x 600mb "patches" just after it's launch, i kinda lost interest.

 

Resistance 2 was my first ps3 game and i really loved it..made over 300.000 kills,on leaderboard i was number 26 with kills in totals and number 3 with kills in total in skirmish mode..now its over,that sucks a bit..dont like any other online games that much..hm...

 

Online have shutdown since 28th April 2014


I have massive fond memories of playing Resistance Fall of man and Resistance 2. Resistance fall of man is my second game I ever bought in 2007. I believe it is probably one of the best online shooter multipayer game I ever played (next to Call of Duty4) Online is lag free on Resistance fall of man and I played so much everyday which I almost got sacked from my old job when I was 16 because I couldn't get up in the morning

I glad I got the 10,000 kills trophy on Resistance 2. Resistance 2 is pretty damn good! Online is fun but not quite as good as Resistance Fall of Man online because of 1 hit kill that I like. Campaign (story) on Resistance Fall of man and Resistance 2 is fucking awesome.

I think in my opinion, Resistance series feels underrated. Thank you Sony and Insomniac.

I haven't play Resistance 3 yet, I need to play it.

 

never played such a good game like r2 before...damn,now its over..
your online shutdown date is wrong..you meant 28th march 2014,but they closed the server 8th april 2014

 

They should release their software for online play, spin them on Amazon, job done!

 

if i could,i would buy the files i need to run the game on my own server..that would be cool

Or set up a webpage for Resistance fans and set up server with support? I would join.

 

I have all 3 Resistance PS3 games and got the platinum trophies for 2 and 3, they are all solid games on par with the Killzone series yet Killzone 2 and 3 are still online.

Would it be difficult for them to make a patch to allow players to host a non ranked game, tons of PC games already have this option and quite a few PS3 I know of such as Sniper Ghost Warrior 1 and 2, also Far Cry 2, this would still keep the multiplayer alive without needing a server.

Just to let you guys know that I finished completing Resistance 3 story and platinum the trophy too. I must say I really did enjoyed it. The the atmosphere never fails me from all three games.

The resistance was the first ps3 game I ever played
