I've been offered a disc only copy of Radiant Silvergun. Yeah thats boring I know. But what's a little more interesting is this:
"The disk looks like the one we all know and plays as well but with It has "Sample" embedded into the inner circle and three Japanese symbols opposite that as well. "

Are Saturn games like this common? Is it worth picking up? He isn't letting it go cheap.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! I've searched the site but can't find anything about such a disc.
    Thanks for your time.

Probably not worth picking up. If it's the full game with the word sample on it, then that's the only difference. Pay maybe $5 more than what you would a disc-only copy. If it's the DEMO version (not the full game) then it runs about $50 in Japan, so maybe $60-$70 outside of Japan is a fair price.

A few questions, first I think it has considerable value. Can you please elaborate on why you think he should not buy my game? Whether I owned the average RS had not anything to do with buying it. There was a thread around this New Year's when it was on YJ where poeple were saying go grabit gimme-gimme (so I picked it up).

Also people's idea of what an average RS goes for varies more than $5 so that figure doesn't seem to mean anything at all. It is the full game as I can tell, but are not many protos, gdrs and nr disks? They seem to be sold on a weekly basis here more than other places. Might we even say the FF:CC gamecube isn't worth picking up since it is the same as a usual gamecube except it has white on it. How come you would come over and squash a certain niche, something I picked up saying it has no particular reproachable value then?

GaijinPunch have you yourself ever seen this before, "Radiant Silvergun S A M P L E" full game I mean? Hasn't anyone else got one, heard of it or seen "one" of Radiant Silvergun? Won't they please let us know because I haven't found another one. I won't go into the logistics (I don't even know it's purpose other than to play a kickass game but that doesn't matter) in that it's pretty rare not a lot of people who've got it willing to let it go. Just me

Also does such a thing as a demo radiant silvergun exist (not the full game)? I hope you weren't imagining it, well I hope it's real I mean. If so think you can locate me one? I want stuff like that. ;)

Also please spare me I had to type this post twice after losing the first go around losing some of it's coherence. :die

RSG Sample WAS on Yahoo Japan and from memory it sold about the same price as regular RSG goes...

SAMPLE on the disc usually means it was the shop demo/display copy...
they usually come in full retail package so if it's disc only you already loose the value in there since it's NOT complete...

with RSG Demo, just like any other Saturn demo it'd come in clear CD jewel case facotry sealed either either front or back insert or none at all... And yes RSG Demo does exist and comes up on Yahoo Japan from time to time. though I believe I've only seen once or twice before - wasn't looking for one myself

Coming perhaps to something not cheap but not expensive either would be more preferable it sounds like then. I've been on the forum since a few years before this new PHP board came around, and participated some, (had to start over after losing a password to email) but there was a thread in main Video Gaming and also a mention in the Yahoo Japan thread (seem to have terrible luck with these new thread search engines). And also I'd been meaning to start up a Saturn collection and this was one of my first picks (it's virtually flawless as well). I said I think it's rare, It's the only one I could find as of now. I know some people will say it can't be the only one made and I'm not saying it is, of course not don't be silly. But I'm not quite sure how that is a sign of it being very numerous. I'll look for examples of other games with that but we're talking other games after all, ones which the owners of are less keen on keeping then one of this (Sample? I'm sure it may have been in stores perhaps, a lot of variety going on in Japan with stuff like this, thins like this had many uses other than just store prerelease sample playing).

Thanks for the info so far. What? Full retail packaging was (usually) available in individual sample Saturn games you say? *drools* Spine card too? You must! Please show me a few examples of a different game I need to see it if it's possible. I've never seen any that did. But then maybe I'll go try and complete it. But you said usually *frowns* I'll need to look into it to be sure if that's so, maybe see about finding some other games by Treasure to buy, if any, and if something special turns out.

Yes it is the full game but has S A M P L E spaced out like that on the inside silver ring and again in Japanese I think too. The T-32902G is the same but the tiny numbers also on the silver ring could be different, don't know, and on the outer ring it has SEGA ENTERPRISES, LTD. showing through backwards from the other side.

    Update
Couldn't find any with packaging. Here this is where it gets different: Noticed it's still sealed, but no retail packaging inside the sample. What game is this, is that the way the disk art always looks? Still would like some evidence of any that came in a full packaging, would love to see it actually. And notice the sample heading is located in a different format? The mystery deepens. Perhaps Radiant Silvergun looked much like that without packaging meaning it's complete as it gets.

RS Sample is the same cd as retail RS but with SAMPLE written on the inner ring. The games is full & complete.
It is the same for D-Xhird & Real sound (first cd complete) and maybe some other ones.

In fact, every Sample CD with the word SAMPLE in black written on the inner ring are identical to the retail one.

If anyone is interested? Haven't heard from coreycorey2000 in over a day, it says he was here, what's up? I got at least 1 new pm from somebody, waiting to hear from anyone interested. so I'm willing to take it down a little on the price ok, I see something I want to buy. Segafreak_NL Nice collection. Madroms, it looks like out of what Segafreak_NL posted that Radiant silvegun was the only one that has it on the inner ring, might want to check that, see D-Xhird, the others seem to have sample in other indiscriminate places

If he's looking for something with more value than RS, he should not buy it. If he wants the novelty, that's of course his business, but as he said "it wasnt cheap" it sounded like he was being charged a lot more for something that's not worth a lot more.

So you're pretense is that you're assuming you know what he's looking for while admittedly you don't? Post all that regardless of the fact that you don't know what his interests were, what he was offering, or without saying anything nice. Yet you still managed to come off sounding as if you are a gentlemen. Good job, I can see you feel that everyone thinks you are great. Three cheers for know it alls. And It's no wonder, no wonder at all that more stuff isn't released with the way people get discriminated against untill you find out they have something you want.

Celga are great, I might have used that service to get the game this thread itself is about. logicly speaking it's not your stuff untill you've paid the costs of the auction, shipping from the seller to them, their service fee, and finally shipping cost from them to you.

Now, if you've paid the cost of the auction, their service fee, and shipping from the seller to them, which incidently they send you one neat invoice for, then they allow you store your stuff in their warehouse while you decide if you'd like to use their service a little more. You know so you can have it all sent in one nice package.

But if you let something sit there for 8 months without using their service they're going to check in or maybe send an invoice for shipping and you are expected to pay it so they can make room for new orders. If you ignore the shipping invoice, you're likely to get 1 reminder around ten days later and if you ignore them further you're likely to be blacklisted. Same as if you made an order but never paid for the auction itself.

Do you care? You could figure it out if you really cared to know. And like I've been informed this isn't the buying and selling forum you know, so no need for that.

There was no set price he sent me an offer because I wasn't pushing the envelope and then we were negotiating, I didn't want to go into the hole too much, though I was going to accept his first offer if I couldn't negotiate a little. BUT I never heard back after that, it seems after talking about it for 4 days and with the advent of you and you're high horse, communication has been left silent since friday morning. hmm mind explaining that? Maybe I really needed to sell this or I could be overreacting, maybe he got sick or is really busy, but c'mon I think it's obvious that he's been put off by a lackadaisical view.

With all due respect it sounds like you found someone who was willing to pay way too much and now you're pissed because the buyer asked around and realized this. It also sounds like you knew this person was paying too much since you are getting really defensive and seem determined to prove that you are right. I've noticed that you still haven't said what the price was though and that makes me wonder.

As for GaijinPunch. You're acting like he intended to torpedo this deal. All he did was answer a question the best he could with the information provided. He is a respected member of this forum and knows what he's talking about. Just because you don't like what he's saying is no reason to act like you are.
