Weight limit on JAL is 32kg per bag. If you have one bag that's 34.5kg and another that's 25 kg, you have to take 2.5kg out of the larger and put it in the smaller. Of course, you can't pay money for "extra luggage" and have the luggage as is, despite the fact that some moron on the JAL hotline said you could. WHAT THE FUCK?!

Anyways, dicking around on the internet until my flight. About 10 hours and I'll be wearing a lei, looking like a tourist idiot.

EDIT: I think I'll make a "travelling in Japan for gamers" section on JG in the near future... with todays episode as a starter.

You'll have to ask Yakumo for that... no hard-offs anywhere near Tokyo.

I started to make a map (in English) of Akihabara.... I'll finish that up whem my computer arrives... in 6 weeks or so.

There's a Hard-Off in Chiba that I can give anyone directions to if wanted. Mind you, it's a pretty long walk back to the train station while carrying two 3DO's, a Virtua Stick, a PCE+CD and various other muck :smt042

And GP: Are you allowed to take that much weight with you without paying extra? ANA economy class had a shitty 20kg limit :smt022

Hope you have a safe trip GaijinPunch. I have no idea what my suitcase weighed when I came back from the UK but it was heavy for sure. Sometimes Japanese can be a right pain in the arse with their finiky ways.

It was a final FUCK YOU on the way out... I found it a bit appropriate. It's that whole "I have no idea how to think out of the box" culture which Japan is notorious for. For some reason, everyone else gets the joke, but they don't.

Your 100% right there GaijinPunch. Japanese live in a box. If it's "Not the Japanese way" then it's not right. I mean I'm married to one and sometimes she can drive me up the wall with stupid Japanese ways. It's even something so fucking stupid like making a cup of tea. I put the tea bag in the cup followed by the milk then the water. But because that's not "the Japanese way" it's considered wrong.

Another annoying thing about Japanese is their stupid "I'm a lemming" approach to things. Here is the latest one. A month or so ago a Japanese TV show showed this Korean Drama. The main guy became so popular for God knows what reason. Now EVERY Japanese company MUST have this guy in their TV adds. Not only that but now EVERY TV STATION MUST have at least one Korean drama. The Japanese fucking hate Koreans. What's going on??? They are all Lemmings I tell you !! If one person does it then they all must do it.

Even now it's still very warm outside and I'll ware shorts but you don't see many Japanese people wearing shorts now because the season for shorts is over, it's now autumn. Bloody crazy I tell you.

Yakumo (The confused gaijin who loves & hates Japan)

There's a "Korea Boom" now... there were loads of Japanese heading over to Korea for long weekends. It's cheap shopping... and that goofy Korean drama you mentioned, which is pretty popular. It is backwards though. They're cheap goods are good enough, but the peeople themselves apparently aren't.

As for the Japanese women thing... they've definitly got a stubbornness to them. Sometimes, they just like to throw a fork in the spokes. I told my wife to go change our dollars after we ate, and she bought all her duty free crap (I would be in the lounge on my laptop). She replied, "don't you have a bank account in the states." Well, of course, but that has dick to do with the fact that you can't use the yen you have in your pocket in America, and need to change it... no?

I knows just where you are coming from with that. God only knows how many times I've put up with something along the same lines.

THem japanese and their "japanese style steps". :smt042

Anyway, I remember from World History class that early Japan thought that the whole Universe revolved around THAT island, which explains their culture.

i guess thats the reason why ppl study anthropology, try to learn each race local custom, tradition, mindset, philosophy etc :)
Like all anthropologists do, you need to blend and live with it.

actually in every nation there are degree of "Lemmingisms" that affects the inhabitants.
USA, UK, Canada, China, HK, France etc, not just the japanese.

in USA thanks to CNN CNBC FOX more than half of USA ppl are lemmings, indirectly indoctrinate ppl to hate particular beliefs, in UK same thing just slightly different nature of lemingisms there, China france and more nations also have them.

sometimes I wonder why japan bashing are quite frequent, okay 97% of ppl here are caucasians but really isnt it nice to be perspective when looking at things
