http://www.ebay.com/itm/RARE-BLACK-...t=Video_Games_Accessories&hash=item35c0937900 seen this figured you guys would want to see it too
Thx, but its just black (Yeah its rare, its given to devs and all.) I still need that HDdvd emulator to run on my Jtag and then release it or something lol forgot all about it.
I bought a few black remotes from a guy in Redmond, WA a few months ago, he worked for Microsoft and was able to get a few, I only paid $19 for them. The price they are asking for is way too much for a dead format, the only thing it has going for it is its black.
Yeah, like what would you even do with it? It's not worth toying with because, you know, that mysterious thing called Blu-ray. I'd probably pay $30 max for it.
$775... he's just pulled that number out of his ass! Technology has moved on a lot since HD DVD too so its only value is as a collectible. Not worth anymore than £50 really!
http://team-xecuter.com/forums/showthread.php?t=84555 Excuse me? I'd do what I did here and turn it into a 0800 drive.
I have one of the white ones and it plays a mean HD-DVD. Only problem is that there is no integration into FSD (and people take it as a joke when you seriously question the lack of support) so you have to browse to the drive's storage and launch the Xex to start playing. No way I'd pay $775 for a black model. I'd sooner dye mine.
The only reason i own hd dvd unit was for the remote(didn't like the little poxy remote they sold seperate), paid 20 notes for it.. so unit was basicly a bonus thrown in. watched 1 movie on it to make sure it was working ok, then boxed back up and put away.
Wanna know something funny you might kick yourself over? Most media center remotes intended for the MCE versions of Windows XP work fine with the 360. In fact the remote I got with this HP laptop works on mine as does another remote from a Toshiba and a Gateway machine. Picked the latter two up for a $1 from a thrift store.
Never new that bit of info(but i do now.. thx), nothing to kick myself over though.. something about that hd dvd shell makes it worth while.
I really quite liked HD-DVD.... Even more so when the movies went down to £3! On my TV HD-DVD has a slightly superior picture quality to some Blu-Rays also. I must admit though, I would have taken a bid if it was around 50-100 bucks, not any more than that though.
I got the HDdvd drive for the funs and collects, untill now I do not own any blueray or player for blueray. I wait till the next Xbox, maybe then ill start. but maybe ill skip Blueray AND the next Xbox lol.
I'd say it's worth about $100-$200 we don't want a lowballer but we don't want to get too pricey either. It's a cool piece to add onto your black XDK. The 360 was mainly themed black for developers because of the original xbox.
