I came across this leopard print DC recently and wondered if anyone could give me any information? Yakumo told me it could be part of the old Dreamcast-direct series, but as we cant see a logo it is hard to confirm. Seller is being a bit coy about posting pictures...
I saw that lot a few days ago and did a bit of research but I couldn't find anything specific online about it. I even looked for old sega direct promo things and only saw the silver, blue and pink dreamcasts. Which makes me think it would just be a vinyl skin but I haven't seen any that have the skin go under the dreamcast.
I don't see the 'SEGA' and 'Powered by Windows CE' markings on the leopard case, so that alone is for me enough reason to think it's a 3'rd party effort.
The pattern looks really bad, so I doubt it's official. There is a leopard print controller and VMU I believe.
Here is the official Leopard print: Dreamcast VMU's and Leopard skin Controller. by Meringues, on Flickr Its very different to the Dreamcast skin in the first post
Damn it looks sexy than Katie Price. Anyway I big fan of dreamcast and I never seen this one before. Thank for the heads up.
if I'm not mistaken DreamPoints would get you some of strange/wacky shell for DC in Japan- only the top I think. as there was Leopard controller I'm certain there's Leopard console top shell... since I cannot see the pic of OP's item can't say for sure though
Looks to me like someone actually cut up some leopard print stretch pants, took both case parts and adjusted & glued on accordingly.
I would have liked the stone print, 3rd VMU from the left. I wonder if there's a matching controller and console skin somewhere?
Thats not actually stone print, it has loads of little numbers on in, I know you can get controllers with all these patterns but I can't confirm about console shells.
I don't think that Sega ever produced a leopard print console, that coupled with the fact that the seller isn't that keen to provide pics and the lack of branding I would have t say its a "skin". Shame cos it looks great!
They didn't. Even the leopard design on that console doesn't exactly match the design of the official leopard skin controller or VMU. Furthermore, if it was in fact a Sega/D- Direct official replacement case, it would be for the top portion of the unit only. There is nothing official about that Dreamcast. It's simply a skin or custom case mod.
