As this section is for "rare and obscure video gaming", how about some rare Game & Watch units (preferably Nintendo ones)? I have a few standard ones, but this one is pretty rare - Snoopy Panorama. Pic is a little out of focus, and the unit is a bit dusty!

Rarer is the Popeye one I believe - what Game & Watch do you guys have?

I have a Crystal Screen Climber CIB. The box is kinda rough though. I thought they were worth ~$200 in good shape not $1000....

Prices of Game and Watch games vary, although they have gone down a lot since the Ebay days of old. In Japan they still go for stupid money in shops but on Yahoo auctions they are generally cheaper when the appear.

Rarity of games varies between countries too. Mario Cement Factory is quite a common game in the UK but is quite rare in Japan for example.

one general question. how to find out if a G&W is an oversea or japan version, if it comes loose (w/o box)? they're practically identic, not?

found that one for 2€ on a local flea market (unboxed unfortunatly ...)

I got quite a lot, some of the NOS with the batteries still sealed and completly unused ... like Fire (Widescreen), Black Jack and some more ... from the Panorama's I have only Snoopy and Mario's Cement Factory, then a few tabletops (btw: anyone an idea how much those are worth ? I got Donkey Kong Jr., Mario's Cement Factory and Popeye)

other than that one of the more rare ones I have is a Manhole (Gold Series), right now I have a total of ~40 G&W (as well as ~5 G&W Mini Classics)

that's what I thought too. but recently I can see some G&W sales with 海外Vers. (oversea vers.) mentioned, in the showcase. even for loose ones, so how the heck do they know?

Game and Watches, in general, aren't so much rare as valuable. There are maybe 10 that are hard to track down under any circumstances. This Snoopy pano you have pictured is awesome, but probably not in the top ten for difficulty. Donkey Kong Circus is the pano that tends to be hard to track down. Not that I've done some kind of eBay survey, but that is the traditional rarity. Boxes are particularly expensive.

These games are awesome because for the most part they are good fun to play and pass around to beat a high score. Definitely good to pass the time on a school bus, but probably not interesting enough to play for an afternoon.

I need seven to have a complete collection. Mind you, that would be loose or boxed. I'm not a hardcore condition snob- that is too expensive when it comes to G&Ws. Of course, I'll trade betas from my thread in the marketplace for G&Ws I don't have, or boxed G&Ws that I have loose. These are some of the tougher ones to track down, especially the first three. And especially if you don't look on yahoo.jp. And I don't.

One of these days I'd like to make it a priority to spend cash on those last few I don't yet have. But other things keep coming up to buy, so I never get around to it. Plus I'm terminally cheap and spending $300 on one of those is hard to swallow, when I could get a one of a kind-ish beta for that price or a dev system or whatever.

    Silver:Ball,Flagman,Judge
    Panorama: Donkey Kong Circus
    Crystal Screen:Super Mario Bros,Climber,Balloon Fight
