Wait minute..... Is that a POLISH voice over it has?! Certainly sounds like it. Woot! Go Poland! :smt023 I'll have to get my dad to translate it, since I've never been very good at the language. Otherwise nice video.
I'd bet hard currency on it being Polish. 99% certain in fact. The thing is he seems to have a slightly funny accent, which threw me off a bit. EDIT: It is Polish, as confirmed by my friend via email, who apparently knows the guy who did it: Mystery solved! Time to celebrate with noodles. :ramen
I had that video uploaded to my FTP by some kind person over a year ago. THere are a few videos by that Polish guy. I'm pretty sure the video was taken at the Tokyo Game Show as well.. Now, if I could only remember what ever happened to the uploads Yakumo
Sorry for digging up souch an old thread, but I've noticed noone actually translated the video, so since I'm at work and there's no actual work to be done, here it goes: "What we have here is the Nintendo version of Biohazard, also known as Resident Evil Zero in Europe and United States. We'll be taking controll of Rebecca. We all know that the game will be taking place before the first Resident Evil, bot not everybody knows that there are problems [note: with the game / developement]. There's talk about publishing the game on Dolphin. Moreover, we'll be seeing the game on "Mr. Colorful" [The guy stumbles a bit here, not knowing what to say exactly. By "Mr. Colorful he meant GameBoy Color]. But... umm... I mean the new one... On the new Game Boy. That's right... On GameBoy Advance. But actually we don't know anything yet. So we might see this version on Nintendo 64, or we might not. *A short pause here* Here's a pretty long sequence of a clumsy fight, or no fight against a zombie [He actually uses another word for zombie. A slang word, one might say]. The whole demo was limited to these few train locations and shooting the zombies. Supposedly, the game is going to be very challanging. As we can see, there can be no talk of any kind of visual breakthrough." So that's about it. The guy is really bad at making the commentary up as he goes. He stumbles, mixes the words up. And you can clearly feel the fake "cool factor". Even though "Neo" is a well known gaming magazine, one of two leading gaming magazines in Poland, their videos lack the professional touch. The commentary is extremly poor. If you took someone off the street, showed them a game and told to comment on it, it would probably sound like that. "Well, umm... here we can see.. umm... a girl... she has a... umm... a gun... yea, a gun. That's what she has. And there we have theeee.. umm... the monsters. The dirty monsters..." To add some more information about the origin of these polish videos, all of these came from a VHS tape that was released after TGS that year. Two tapes were released. You could get them by placing a special order. They weren't any kind of "cover vhs". You had to buy them separately from the magazine. Basically, each tape was about an hour long and you could watch a report from TGS, while listening to their annoying comments. A friend of mine got one of these and it was pretty bad. The narrators tend to babble a whole lot, making incredibly bad jokes, which turn the TGS experience into a joke really.
