I'm talking arcade stuff from the 90s and back - I know all the Cave stuff is up there.
and I mean released stuff - so Polybius is not an option. lol.
Akumajo Dracula pcb is one I think. what are some others?

Gradius bubble system is rare because it breaks so easily, otherwise I believe the game is identical to the normal gradius ( it really does use bubble ram for storing the game instead of rom chips, and if you drop it then it dies ).

Super locomotive doesn't appear to have been released in large numbers & it's quite a cool game ( Tony Crowther thought so, he managed to sell 3 c64 conversions of it ).

Libble Rabble is another game that is quite rare and people will pay quite a bit for.

Some of the Point Blank games go for quite a lot of money still, which is very odd.

    cheers.
yeah Arcade pcb hunting is a strange sport - but it can be very gratifying - picking up rare or little known about gems for cheep - or not - is cool. but prices can vary so much, it makes it unlike video game collecting in general - except for MVS carts and some well known or highly demanded games (CPS2 stuff etc.)

Those 3-screen Taito games are rare and expensive; and i never seen a cheap Solomons Key(Tecmo).
Some expensiv IREM games are Mr.Heli and Ninja Spirit.
Rod-Land(Jaleco) can cost much sometimes but is fairly cheap in Japan.

Bubble Bobble and Rainbow Islands are not rare but can sell for silly high amount on eBay.

how about New Zealand story? I never see that for sale but for some reason I've got it in my head that it's pretty expensive when it comes up for sale.

Mitchell games interest me quite a bit - I think they're quite highly collectible.

and some older shooters I've read can go for quite a bit - Black Heart is one such game. my question is why?

Super Locomotive is indeed a rare one...and really is an awesome game. It's a shame...as I really would like to own it some day.

This isn't really rare. A shmups poster picked this up in a Tokyo PCB shop for like 20,000 yen recently.

Some of my additions (all JPN region)
    Gain Ground (Sega System32)
    Crackdown (Sega System32)
Gradius (original version -- this is pricey)
    Akumajo Dracula (as stated)
A lot of the old Namco stuff runs a good 30,000 yen or so
Dodonpachi DOJ Black Label is the only really rare Cave PCB (other than DDP Campaign Version, of course)
I've never seen any Hikaru boards for sale in online PCB shops or Akihabara PCB shops.

not a proto. the board is extremely rare but it saw release and was so badly recieved and/or distributed that it was pulled quickly. the cab - not that's something to ogle. I'd have loved to have found that.

edit: the ones I'm after but don't like my chances (on the prowl for a friend I said I'd help mostly) are:

*Green Beret - the Irem game not the Konami one which came later and is a totally different game.
*Manhattan - I think this game was released on the Deco casset system.
    *Andromeda
    *Punching Kid
*Treasure Island - not on Deco casset - the PCB version
    and some Omori games.

Anything on the Deco Cassette System would be quite rare/expensive.
Sega System 24 floppy disk games are also hard to find.
If you want to talk rare arcade PCBs, go ask people involved with the dumping project (buys and dumps arcade PCBs)

    that's right, it wasn't.
that said, there's a distinct possibility that another exists and is to be found, here, in Argentina. I bought Battlebird directly from a local distributer who's been in the biz for the past 20 years (one of the main ones here in south america) he said that they'd bring obscure stuff like this often through 2 for 1 offers (buy 1 get 2).
    so I'm on it.
