I remember a while ago someone was asking about the prices of RE:0,1,2,3 and CVX, but cant find the thread. anyways, just to let you know, Videogamesplus have some RE:2's in stock, but apparently limited supply: http://www.videogamesplus.ca/product_info.php?products_id=787
Not really, seeing as CAD is trong right now against the USD, and it can be had on eBay for $55 sealed now.
Just so everyone knows, the Gamecube Resident Evil 2 is essentially unchanged from the Dreamcast version, in case you're hoping for a RE1-style remake. Then again, I'm a bit biased when it comes to RE2 versions - my personal favorite is the N64 version, where they managed to squeeze 2 discs plus hi-rez models into a single cart. Plus, it has God's own third-person control scheme instead of the horrible first-person one that Capcom has been forcing upon us until RE4.
*points to the above post* I agree that RE2 for N64 is an excellent version of the game (would have been better with Extreme Battle mode in it...but I understand they needed to cut things out to fit it on a cart) but I really dont see why everyone hates the classic Resident Evil control style....it just seems so perfect to me. Don't get me wrong, I love the RE4 control style too....but it really doesnt feel like a proper Resident Evil game to me. Anyway, if any UK people are after the RE games on the 'cube I recommend going to GAME. A current promotion means you ca get 2 of the Resident Evil games for £30 (Out of the selection of 2, 3 and CVX). Still too much for me to pay for games I have on multiple systems already though....
The first-person control IS classic Resident Evil, I'll give it that, but it doesn't mean that it's GOOD. A game's control style should not force the user to acclimate themselves to it before being able to successfully evade enemies or run straight down a hallway without sliding along the walls. Dino Crisis is one of my favorite games, but I have a hard time trying to play it because I know I'll have to spend 15 minutes getting used to the controls again. At least that's my thought on it. And speaking of bundles, I'm not sure if Capcom's released it for you guys in the UK yet, but there's a pack Capcom released a few months back called Pure Evil - it's basically RE0 and REmake together for $30. If you've already got the games and are a collector, save your money - it's just the standard greatest hits edition cases inside a cardboard box with the Pure Evil artwork on it. However, if you haven't played the first two games, it is a good price for two excellent games.
