RE 4 Development Beta

Hello Community
Ive got a question,let me explain:

Ive found an interesting version of Re 4.The Debug menu is fully opend.
Whats interesting with this version??
The pic from Hunningham is missing and you can only read the text from her and leon
All Documents are missing
You can use the silencer in this version
This version is playable till level 1-3
the Merchant menu is different as in the final version
A cutscene with saddler is different as in the final game
Some voices are different ""
I want to ask,if its possible,that this version is a development version/beta,because this version doesnt looks like a hacked version or something else.After extracting the files i found a interesting pic from a women and a pic.The pic shows a bottle for pills (you can find those pics here in this forum)
What did the community say?does anyone know this version and can tell me more???
i hope my english was good enough that all users can understand what i want

The weird thing I couldn't help but notice is that the text is in English but the title screen clearly says "Biohazard 4" (or "4 Biohazard"...I never did understand why RE4's logo had the number on the left).

 

this is another hacked demo disc, nothing special. futhermore its in english language.

 

1. No, it's not from a public demo, it's a prototype.

2. So it's 100% certainly not a "development beta" as claimed in the thread title, probably "just" a preview disc sent to magazines in USA and/or Europe.

 

I think its not a disc who was send to gameing mags etc,because there are to many differences in this game.i am very sure that this disc is not a preview disc etc

 

yes, this is possible but i wouldnt say this is a prototype, only a demo for tester or magazines.

I havnt the game but this is really near to the final build cause the differences are very small and easy to fix. whatever, its nice to see.

 

there are more differences as you know...for example:the silencers are available,the debug menu is fully opened,or hunningham is missing,all documents are missing or some cutscenes are differences (saddlers voice)

definately, its a preview. the magazines couldnt spoil the storyline besides its in english. maybe someone know more about the development stages from this build. you leak it someday? - i wouldnt play it, but fans, of course.

 

Preview discs on recordable media sent to magazines often contain many differences. They send these discs to the magazines a long time before the game is finished, so of course there will be differences. I mean, RE 1.5 was sent to magazines...

Wouldn't "demo for tester or magazines" fall under the definition of prototype a used on this forum? Although probably not written in stone, I've understood prototype pretty much like "pre-release copy on recordable media not intended for the general public".

Just saying that if it's a "beta", it's also a "prototype", as prototype generally seems to be a broader term including all kinds of pre-release versions. The terms are probably used differently though, both by developers and gamers.

hi!! ooh i never heard this before lol um did anyone upload the iso? i like fooling around with pro type games XD also what happens when you get to 1-3 does the game crash? or the game becomes unplayable?

 

the game ends..there came a black screen after ending level 1-3..thats all

 

ooh kk thanks lol ooh also i just found an old Nintendo promotion book ( not Nintendo power) and it has some very early pic from re4 and it also was talking about zombies and umbrella but in the final game their is no zombies and umbrella is rarely even mentioned lolol um whould you like me to post the scans here?

edit also in that book i found a VERY early beta pics of star fox assault
and in the promotion book the games name was just named star fox if anyone would like to see them just pm
