Re-Volt Developer Version [PC] [Acclaim]

Hello everyone, I managed to grab this version when I was in school. I just recently went through my CDs and found this today.

It's a little different from the release, but not a hell of a lot.
Ability to play MP3 files - Removed in Final
Different TV Images - Changed in Final
Removed textures like bikini models in lobby
Naked XG Woman on a Bike - Removed in Final
Another XG Bike without textures - Removed in Final
Differently named cars "cockwork, bird" Believe these are jokes...

Hope this adds to everyone's collection

Cheers for sharing, I will defiantly take a look at this, i used to play Revolt a lot when I was younger.

Just been looking up information on Revolt after reading your post here and it turns out the Revolt community has recently acquired the source code of the game and are creating a major update to it.

Would be interesting to see if you decide to, how does it differ to the one given to Xbox Live beta testers?

 

Its the full game but its pretty buggy.

 

That'd be awesome to see. I've seen some screenshots of it. This version just seems to be unlocked in many places. When the retail version only had the MP3 playback removed.

 

Don't you have the source for it as well? Or was that someone else.

I've been trying to crack the Live beta test version to ignore needing Live to even start the game but so far no bueno.

I used to mod for that above community, I also know the person who discovered the source code. He managed to find some extra cars that were apparently called EVIL<carname> I believe Acclaim was attempting to have a 'Face Off' mode, much like the later Burnout game.

How did this person discover the source code? sounds like that could be a good story.

A Face Off mode would have been a lot of fun if you ask me, Revolt is defiantly the most fun radio control car racing game I have played. Others like Stunt GP and the recent Mad Tracks on Xbox Live Arcade just don't have the fun factor Revolt did for me.

 

I really don't have any clue how he did, he could of also been in a team to do it or so.There are a few videos of it on youtube.

And yes, the Face Off mode would of been fantastic. really enjoyed it on Burnout. Though, I loved all of Acclaim's racing games really, they had the best Arcade feel to them.

also, why are the mp3's actualy html files?

 

It's so the size of the file is 40MB apart from say 100MB+. If you like the music I can add it as a separate download, which won't be any trouble at all .

Yep, it's the same music from the XBOX Live BETA I believe. Well the menu and some tracks... I don't own an original game just the Developer version... I have most songs though.
The music is great though, it really matched the gameplay, I haven't really seen a 3rd party game that's had originally made music that's sounded so good.
