Hi, does anyone know how much it would cost to re-wire an arcade machine? My brother is going to do it for an arcade machine we may get, but I was curious as to how much it would cost. Thank you.

Define rewire. Why does it need to be rewired and what are you going to do to it?

Rewire = getting rid of the torn up wire and replacing it with fresh, new wire. I'm going to play the arcade machine.

Well you can buy a new Jamma loom for about $20 on ebay, or you can make it yourself for half that. Obviously you need to know your monitor/PSU are OK as well. If you are going to gut and re-do everything, you may as well put new buttons/switches and joysticks in there as well.

Shouldn't this be in the arcade section? ;)

It depends on the state of the rest of it. If the wiring is that bad, the monitor may need a service, too. This could cost anything from a few dollars if you know about working on monitors and are happy working on a 20-30kv circuit, to umm you might as well get a new monitor!!

If by wiring, you mean all the electrics are shot, then it could cost quite a bit. There's also the coin mech to take into consideration.

Incidentally, making a JAMMA harness yourself is a pain in the arse!

Ah, yes...you are right. I've just never gone in the arcade section, so I never even thought about it. Good call.
