Hello! I bought an NTSC U/C demo of Resident Evil Nemesis to play it on my emulators (Cause my not-modified PSX is PAL from Spain) and I get this image when I try to run demo disc: Señal de pantalla so... What does it mean?? I think I would need another bios file... Can anybody tell me something interesting about the text of the image? I can't read japanese (Is it japanese? I think so...) Thanks!
So... can I play it on emulators? It's strange... I use my original PSX games on emulator without problems But they are all PAL, in fact. Any hint to play that NTSC demo? Thanks to everyone
You're seeing the Japanese error message when using a US copy? Anyway, I don't recall having any problems getting the US RE3 demo to run in any emulators. Have you tried both pSX and ePSXe? Mind showing us the disc itself? (or writing down the SLUS code for it?) There might be Action Replay codes you can use for it to disable the mod-detection. (I also seem to vaguely remember getting a similar message with some games and third party memory cards on the PS1... so try to check your memory card settings in the emu too, I guess.)
Well... the SLUS code is 90064 and I usually use PSXfin and AdriPSX as they are easy emulators... Any sugestion? Thanks
See if you can find a pre-configured copy of ePSXe if you find the configuration too confusing (though, all you really "should" need is epsxe + something like PETE's plug-in set and everything should be okay-ishly set out of the box) Gotta say, though, I don't recall ever encountering the protection in the US demo when playing on emus. But then again, it's been a while since I last touched it (so maybe I only tried it in epsxe).
OWNED It's alive!!!!! I finally made it... I had to search and download a preconfig ePSXe (with just the correct BIOS file left to work OK) and I also had to make an ISO file of my USA NTSC Demo... (Region problems to read the disc directly? well, I don't know...) Pre-configured ePSXe emu installer (maybe someone will need it too) Yesterday I played the demo and it worked fully ok. Thanks everyone who helped ray:
I saw this screen once when I tried playing a normal US version of Dino Crisis on my PAL SCPH-5502. I upgraded the mod chip to a stealth one and I've never seen it again. Was it a Capcom thing..?? Also, I remember the JPN version of FFVIII used the same modchip detection method which produced a similar screen.
Curious... a similar screen at Final VIII. In fact, my Resident Evil 3 demo is that one which was given with the original copy of Dino Crisis in USA when the game was released.
