Have you guys seen this crap. I just saw it and im so pissed. I was looking forward to this and thinking how cool Nintendo was becoming but this is a step back to their child loving days -_- Heres a link to MaxConsole where I read about it just now. http://www.maxconsole.net/?mode=news&newsid=17552 Its also on their front page but thats a direct link to the article. :rambo:
Damn, my younger brother was going to get me this game so I could go through it entirely, but I just told him this and he said to just play his GC version ;p
as far as i know its only the japanese biohazard release that is censored, i could be wrong though, but hopefully the euro and usa version should be uncut (fingers crossed!)
I hope that to but im not sure. If it still got a M rating why would they bother to remove that stuff in the first place? I hope that they leave the Euro and US release as it was ment to be.
The RE4 for GC was censored in Japan anyway. The blood though, that has to suck. The could have at least changed it to green. They just don't like gore in Japan, but violence is ok...
idiots. games are should have options, not enforced censorship. If i m paying for the damn thing and i m over legal age, I have the right to see all the blood and guts I desire (and drink some whisky while at it)
Shitty, but then it happened to the Japanese version of RE4 anyway. If they've honestly taken all the blood out as well, though, that's just daft.
The Japanese Game Cube Bio Hazard 4 isn't that badly censored to be honest. All that's gone it the decapitation. You can still blow off the heads etc with shit loads of blood. It was a stupid and dumb cash in to port it to the Wii anyway. Game Cube version all the way. Bio Hazard 4 doesn't need "Wii" controls ! The game wasn't designed for them so therefore doesn't benefit from them. Yakumo
That may often be true in general, but I don't think it's necessarily the case. There may be games which would've been better suited to Wii controls that were stuck with earlier control schemes. It remains to be seen if RE4 is one of those games. Personally I'm looking forwards to an excuse to replay the game, I was hoping the PC version would provide some interest with mouse controls, but they fucked that up by not including them.
Not liking this but it doesn't effect me sicne I don't have a Wii (Yet) but I feel sorry for other Wii owners who were looking forward to this game. Oh well lets hope the USA and Europe versions are un cut
I don't think censoring will help the game sell more in the US. Over here, that's what gamers like, over the top violence. Take God of War for example uber violent and uber gorey and it's sold over 1.5 million copies in the US alone. I'm not sayin', I'm just sayin'...
As people have said, the Japanese version is censored (as were the GC and PS2 releases) and I don't think the US version will be. I have also heard that GC controls are still an option in the Wii release. Either way, I'll be buying this great game again just so I can play through the extra Ada missions that were added to the PS2 release and will be present in this version. Being a budget title ($29.99) and supporting true widescreen with GC level assests only sweeten the deal. For those interested, here's a video of a side by side comparison between the Wii and GC releases: http://kotaku.com/gaming/clips/resident-evil-4-wii-vs-cube-266288.php
What the fuck! Not only are they graphically identical, but fuck! The decapitations and gore was one of the best parts! At least it has widescreen and it's got to be at least a little bit sharper.
Confirmed that the censorship in RE4 Wii is the same as in previous versions for their respective regions. The N.A. version will NOT be censored, in this case. Also, Wii controls are present as you know, but so are GameCube and Classic controller methods. + the usual GCN graphics & audio, PS2 extras (true widescreen, extra missions, weapons, costumes)... Definitive version, yeah. Priced to move.
http://gonintendo.com/?p=19075 The gang at Siliconera went the extra step to get a confirmation that the US version will not be any more censored than the US Cube version was. Capcom stated that “The previous versions of RE 4 had these minor differences as well (US vs Japan), so nothing has changed.”. There you go, now there’s officially no need to worry! Leon will be decapitated in all his glory on the Wii as well. The previous versions of RE 4 had these minor differences as well (US vs Japan), so nothing has changed. so nothing has changed. nothing. . We can rest easy now. This was all simply just a misconception about the video footage, which was of the Japanese version, but was assumed to show how the game would be everywhere.
