Capcom's PC ports have always been lazy.

PS2 textures look better than the PC version.

Plus, even if they ported the PS2 version, how they couldn't have thought about using high-res textures?

Alchy said it right. They're lazy.

Capcom Manager : "Hey, the balance is missing xxx$. Do we have any chance of getting it filled up?"
Capcom Dev "Well, we have this game...RE4 for ps2. We could actually get it ported over"
Capcom Manager : "Is it complicated? Costy? Time-consuming?"
Capcom Dev "No. I just need to press the "build" button in Visual Studio".

    There :p

Having played RE4 on PC with and without the hi-res texture mod ( at 1280x768, best my computer could handle and besides that its the max res on my TV), i can tell you the difference is HUGE. I will go as far as to say the PC version, when modded, almost looks BETTER than the GC or Wii vesions. Maybe its just because its the only way to play RE4 in HD without upscaling.

I have yet to find a Japanese 3d game comparable to western games.

What do you mean comparable? RE4 was visually breathtaking when it first came out. It looked better than anything on any other console at the time.

RE4 was badass looking when it came out. It's still pretty good looking, maybe blocky sometimes.

Dead Or Alive is pretty damn nice looking, same with Ninja Gaiden I and 2, the Devil May Cry's, Resident Evils, etc. I think lately though, Japanese made games have been lacking vs. western ones, gameplay wise.
