Yes, I tried different stuff, software, drivers, combinations and more. But so far not very much worked on my Windows 8.1 install. Im using a classic 64MB memory card and a random Xploder usb adapter (containing a led and some resistors) basicly, How do I read the files on it, preferbly something like USBXTAF, XPort or Xplorer360(Extreme2?) But these dont seem to work, do I need the right driver set? I found 2 versions of drivers: https://www.xboxmb.com/threads/2822-Xbox-360-Memory-Unit-Drivers and some Xport360 once (wich apears to be version 2) http://digiex.net/downloads/downloa...ent/apps-pc/4044-xport-360-2-12-download.html Urls are kinda random, but what do you use? or is Windows 8 a fail and I need a win7 or XP oc for this ? I do get all the devices reconised in the devicemanager: Another great Windows 8.1 tip for unsiged driver install: http://www.howtogeek.com/167723/how...8.1-so-that-you-can-install-unsigned-drivers/ (will post ) Ofcourse there is a commandline version, but dont rememeber that one. Thanks for reading, hopefully one or more of you know something and can help me get files on and from my memory card. The "use xbox360" way is an option, but I like to use my Pc for this
I usually use party buffalo or I use Horizon. www.xboxmb.com for horizon and use google for party buffalo EDIT: You don't need a diamond subscription to horizon to use the device explorer that I am referring to.
Ive got an PM with software Ill try, Horizon is safe? because my Antivirus screams that it contains weird stuff. The pm basicly said that he is the creator of this software http://fatxplorer.eaton-works.com/download/ Drivers, please install them first. It kinda works, seems I can see some content. but im disapointed in "Eaton-works" choises. You can figure it out yourself. I hate Fullscreen "9x" style apps that are basicly filesystem readers. but It works, for my needs. One more warning, it installs (its an option)"EldoS-PnP-virtual-bus" drivers to "Integrate" into windows. its so my Memory card can be browsed by windows but I dont like that kind of thing. Anyway, Im uninstalling it again. With these drivers Party buffalo isnt working, ill try some more and compairing the drivers. Its seems to me that maybe ill have to do some digging and reprogramming partybuffalo (Wich is by far one of the best applications to me for Hdd reading)
Ok, basicly this: Install drivers. Make sure you installed them correctly. and use Xplorer360 or the Xplorer360Extreme2? edition. isnt working? install drivers again, try uninstalling them, reconnect drive. It workes now.
Yes Horizon is safe. It is simply a false positive with your antivirus. I have been using it for over 2 years now. Check out this thread- https://www.xboxmb.com/threads/145259-Virus-in-Horion-download The device explorer in Horizon is an amazing tool that I highly recommend.
Horizon always gives false positives because it is heavily encrypted and obfuscated to hell, but it is safe. May I ask why you are using a memory card? You can use any normal USB drive to transport saves and easily transfer to computer using horizon or Party Buffalo.
Ill try horizon monday then, gone away for the weekend. Somehow i managed to destroy the filesystem or somethibg else. My pc still sees the device but buffalo and xplorer dont see it anymore. I wanted to try some manufacturemode code i got from a friend with serverside test software. But had to proof the leaked file was working. I did something wrong. My xbox isnt rly in manufactue mode when i use a regular usb with the files on root. Anyway, im now willing to do some recovery on that memorycard(its a ms card, not knockoff as i first believed )
I don't mean to be rude but as long as you know how to read the English language then having ads in an installer should cause no issue at all. Hence why such popular installers such as JAVA have ads in them... If it were such a "POS" program then I highly doubt it would have over 1,000,000 members on its forum. Please give some examples or some other information to back up your claims in the future instead of stating your opinion in a non-constructive way.
Hi CodeAsm, I'm sorry to hear you were disappointed, I was just trying to provide you with a solution. By registration I suppose you are referring to the licensing. There is a trial button at the bottom, if you click it, you can gain access to most of the functionality of the application. Nothing else to it! (-: I assumed you would be done with your memory-unit by the time the 7 days were up. I understand your concern about the integration drivers. That is exactly why I added a button to install them and just don't do it without your permission. I did consider that at one point, but I decided to let the user decide whether to install it because, I agree, installing stuff in the background is shady! That's why I have a button, and several messages boxes, explaining to you the driver's purpose, and whether you want to install it or not. That driver was a significant investment on my part, so I can assure you that it won't cause any problems on your computer. And plus, there's also an uninstaller app made specifically to remove the driver from your PC, so once you are done, you can remove it! (-;
Eaton- You are still active? I just have to say I am a big fan of you and I have to thank you for the numerous contributions you have made to the community.
Going home tonight. Eaton, still thankyou for your programm. Its just some personal opinion on how programs should be desiged and how i like to work with applications. I modified my post sligtly, to reflect my current opinion more. Eaton, can your newest program "format" the memorycard if the filesystem is corrupt? (a "hacked" version gives an error while formatting)
I'm very active, I just don't post on forums too much. I have at least two more big projects for the Xbox 360 I will release (free/open source), keep an eye out for them. (-; I appreciate your feedback! What happens when you plug it into the console and try to format it? There is a MU formatter, which I will be making free in the next update, but if the console doesn't let you do it, there might be another problem.
ill be watching too, nope, my Xbox isnt seeing the device anymore. So maybe I destroyed some parts of the ic or something. tried my XDK and Jasper, both dont see it anymore, its broken somehow. Windows still sees the device and load the drivers. if any of your tools fix it or im getting closer to a fix, ill like to do a donation or something (Wich is more of my thing. giving money for services and support)
Party Buffalo can't read memory cards. Source: I made it when I was like 13 years old. My friend wrote a FATX explorer, but I don't think it supports memory cards: https://github.com/hetelek/Velocity. Horizon works, but doesn't explose the raw FS. Depending on your preference, if Xplorer360 (I'd just have to ask angerwound if he minds me releasing a new build) doesn't work I can add support to that or to Velocity, I'd just need a memcard dump.
Great post. Just great. Off topic- Landroid- Would you ever consider releasing party Buffalo as open source?
uuuh it is... Because when I developed it I was young and didn't know what a VCS was, I used to just toss zips of the source up on my website, which now has an expired domain. An older revision can be found here: https://party-buffalo.googlecode.com When I feel like it I'll post the most recent stuff up on GitHub.
