Just downloaded this game tonight. I'm literally amazed. I knew the thing could do games like Asphault.. games that where ok at best. The new Need for Speed looked alright, but kinda clunky. I've started realizing games like Galaxy on Fire are taking the system to new heights, but I never thought it could be this good.

Download Real Racing if you have a Touch or an iPhone. It has some of the best, smoothest graphics and control I've had so far while owning my 3G for this last year. Everything from open, detailed environments to great looking in cockpit views, it feels like a flushed out racer.

It's arcady, but has some sim to it, and the AI on the cars are actually quite impressive. They fight you for your position, and it's amazing how a system with no buttons has managed to easily let you steer, control speed, shift gears, look behind you, and change views on the fly.

Anyway, no more ranting. Check it out yourself. For 10 bucks, you can't go wrong:nod:. I own a PSP and have owned 2 DS systems. This takes the cake for any portable racing game so far on all three (mind you, GT Portable looks amazing).

Just watched a youtube video on it here -http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pAysP1HM6Z4 and i must say it looks pretty good in the graphics department whilst also looking fun to play.

I've never really thought about the Iphone/Ipod Touch as games machines untill now but i'm begining to think they are actually really good after watching some video on a few games.

In the beginning the games were very rough, I must say. There were a few gems like Solar Quest, but that was about it. Now there's a nice library of handheld system quality games out there, and it's getting to be a very viable platform. Some of my favorites, besides Real Racing, are Pharos IV, Sway, Pocket Tanks, Vector Tanks, I love katamari, Ken Bound, Dropship, Zenonia, and must definitely Star Defense.

Wow, I just checked the youtube vid and I'm absolutely impressed. I had no idea the Ipod/Iphone could do games like this.
Hmm...I'm due to change my cell phone soon...perhaps this is reason enough for me to consider the iPhone.

Honestly, when I got my iPhone, I was more excited about the application apps that would be available for it. Don't get me wrong, I have plenty of them! I have one for my bills, one for my instant messaging, ect. However, I'm amazed to see that I now have 5 pages of games on my phone. The graphics keep getting better, but I guess I like how the control works. It feels like the good games on this platform use motion and touch control better than the Wii and the DS. Maybe it's because indie devs usually have the best ideas, or the fact that that's all you're limited to for controll.. but it's impressed me quite a bit, and led me to turn on the DS and PSP a lot less.

I just wish the battery lasted a bit longer. It's always in the back of your head when playing graphically intense games like this. That and having to hard reset before playing games so they don't crash.. a bit time consuming.

But yea, totally.. i'd get one if you're wanting a new phone. I was the first in my department at work to get one, and now there's 5 (about half!). They all enjoy it, and the fact that unlike my boss' Storm, it's actually upgraded by Apple instead of being left in the dust, it's a smart move money wise as you won't need to upgrade all that often. Plus all upgrades are still free. Kinda like a pocket PC that makes calls. Even sold off my powerbook cause i never used it anymore.

So you say that the motion control for this racing game works well?
I had high hopes for that Ferrari Challenge game on the Wii, and quite honestly I couldn't come to grips with the crappy motion control on that game. Felt like controlling a car via radio control or something.

I used to use a Palm PDA heavily, but got out of the habit once Palm started going the smartphone route. Glimpsing at the iPhone apps, I think this may get me back into using a PDA/Handheld device for work and play as I once used to.

Yea the motion control on the iPhone seems a bit smoother than most Wii games where it feels you're really trying to pull off a move more than it's just a natural act you'd do to pull it off.

I think you'll be really pleased with this game. It really is quite an amazing accomplishment.
