http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=15302&item=8159255766&rd=1 Before someone moves/removes this thread this is NOT my ebay auction, I'm just using it to show you guys what the guide looks like. I've got one of these FF7 guides, and while I was sort of aware that it had a bit of collectors value, I didn't think it was this much. I also saw one that was mint, w/the poster, going for over $100. Granted, these were all unbid buy-it-now auctions, so I can't tell what they're actually selling for. What I really want to know is whether or not this thing is worth anything. I'm not particularly attached to mine, so if it is, I'll be looking to sell it. EDIT: Ok, nevermind, I did an ebay search to display "completed items only" and numerous FF7 Versus guides have sold for more than $100 in only the past 15 days. Glad I kept it :-D :-D
I know, the poster was up in my room for years. In retrospect, I never should have removed it from the guide, but oh well, it did look pretty badass on my wall all the time. I actually think I've still got it somewhere, but I know a corner is ripped or somesuch. It is a very good guide, has stuff the official guide is missing. The only thing it doesn't have is the "All Lucky 7's" phenomenon, so when that happened to me when fighting Emerald Weapon, I thought I had found some cool hidden glitch, then I looked like a moron when all my friends told me it was in their official guides. :smt042
Hey! I used to own that one... I think one of my friends still has it. Is it really worth 75 dollars? It was awesome in terms of writing, and it did have some humour. And a hint of Engrish, also. The writer mentions that in some graffitti, before you enter the Shinra Building, on the wall, the letters "AVERL" are written. "Averlanche". Also - this guide was both "spoiler"-free, and detailed. I'm gonna look for it, a lot of great memories from back then.
Halflife DC strategy guides pop-up regularly too. Apparently the company printed absolutely loads before it was canned. Unlucky. Might be worth getting one to go with my copy of HL ;-)
Everybody has one... How strange both my fiancee and I have a copy, mine still has the poster perforated into the guide. I think I got it at Software Etc. for like $18.99USD. ~Krelian
