Hi, I'm in Tokyo this week and I'm looking for a few Super Famicom titles in particular:

    Majyuuou
    Magical Pop'n
    Star Ocean

Do you think it's realistic that I'll find these games for around 500 yen a piece? If not, what would be a realistic price for these games and where can I find them at a decent price?

Also, I was in Okinawa last week and I picked up several items. I'm curious about your guys' opinion about how much I paid for these things. Did I get a good deal? Average deal? Did I pay too much? Here's what I got:

Super Famicom Console w/2 controllers and power adapter (the console and one of the controllers are like new, one of the controllers is yellow and crusty) - 1750 yen

    Cotton 100% - 480 yen

Sanrio Smash Ball - 480 yen

    Alcahest - 180 yen

    DoReMi Fantasy - 700 yen

    Pop'n Twinbee - 700 yen

    What do you think? Thanks.

    For loose copies:

    Majuuou - 2-3000
    Magical Pop'n - 2000
    Star Ocean - 500

You did get a good deal on Doremi, the other prices are just about right for loose copies, as is the shop price for a used SFC.

Magical Pop'n will be a trick to find complete. Not sure about cart only... I never look in the cart only section.

Yeah, for all this stuff, I'm just looking for the carts only. I don't care about getting the boxes or the instruction manuals.

Hi again, just thought I'd update you guys. I ended up getting Magical Pop'n for 1500 and Star Ocean for 780. I also found Pop'n Twinbee for 280, which really bugged me because I had already bought it for 700. That price almost made me want to buy it again, but I didn't. Regarding Majyuuou, I could not find that game anywhere. They didn't even have it at Super Potato. If anyone here has it (I'm only after the loose cart), I'll be glad to buy it from you for a reasonable price.

Anyway, 1500 for Magical Pop'n cart only, that wasn't too much, right? And Star Ocean for 780? I know cez wrote that Star Ocean is usually 500, but 780 was the cheapest I found Star Ocean anywhere (it was actually 880, but I bargained it down to 780).

    Thanks for the feedback!

they have (or had last week?) two copies in the glass case , boxed. But the one good condition one is 11k and the other one (VERY heavily sun bleached cover) is going for 7800 or so.

Huh, when I went there on Wednesday, they didn't have any copies of Majyuuou, even in the glass case. They said they were sold out of it. They did have Magical Pop'n boxed for around 6300 or something.

What's Friends? Also, why is Magical Pop'n so sought after and expensive? I mean, I've been playing the first few levels of my copy, and it seems like a cool, fun side-scroller with good music, but what sets it apart from other games like it?

Maybe not that many copies were produced or perhaps it's just one of those games that gets a big reputation that it doesn't really deserve.

Hi guys, it's been a while. I wanted to ask your opinion. I just bought Terranigma (the Japanese version) for $10 on eBay. Was that a good, bad, or fair deal?

You are also likely to find mainly unboxed games and 99% of them are likely to be baseball, football, wrestling, pachinko, Street Fighter 2, horse racing and RPG games.

Seems high to me. I think if you hold out and spend a day searching a few more stores you probably could have gotten it for 177 yen.
