I recieved my model 2 SNES console (thank you Survival Tobita) and now it needs some games other than the two that it came with.

Just post to your hearts content. Also, if you can post a link of a website selling the game then please do so. If you are selling then please post at the FS forum where there will be a similar thread like this by me. :dance

There are 100's of great SNES games. Like with most systems though many of them are japanese only. Anyway you have all the standard ones such as :

    Final Fantasy 6 (3)
    Chrono Trigger
Super Aleste (Space Megaforce in the US)
    Pilotwings
    Star Fox
    Super Street Fighter 2
    Septentrion (S.O.S. in the US)
    Mega Man series
    Batman Returns
    Axelay
    Super Turrican 1 & 2
    and so on.

But then there's the Japanese only releases that are well worth some attention. Titles such as

    Garoundesetsu Special (Fatal Fury Special)
    Umihara Kawase
Secret Of Mana 3 (Can't remember the Japanese name)
    Oshaberi Parodius
    Fighters History 2
    G.S. Mikami
    Ganbare Goemon 2,3,4 (Mystical Ninja)
    Wonder Project J
and loads more (Too sleepy to think at the moment. It's almost 5am)

    super bomberman
    super mario all stars
donkey kong country 1 or 2( i must admit for me it hasn't aged well, but for others its still good)
    contra 3
gradius 3 (people complain about the slowdown but its a good port and goes for cheap)
Turtles in time (teenage mutant ninja turtlles)
earthbound is a must if you can find a copy
like yaumo said theres alot of other good games, i myself know of more but i really can't thinkg of them at the moment.

uh, where is tales of phantasia, yakumo? that game imo should be added to your japanese game list. :smt083

p.s. are there more games in the heaven and earth series?
i know of actraiser 1,2 soulblazer, illusion of gaia, and terranigma.

to your knowledge, are there any more games in that series?

I've always been partial to :

Castlevania IV- stright up the best Castelvania on any 16 bit console

    Axelay- pretty good shooter

Legend of the Mystical Ninja (Geomon)

Super Mario All stars- of course

A few sleepers that are underrated in my opinion:

Ballz (you either love it or hate it)

Equinox (a little wierd until you get used to it)

  7. If you like your Anime, and/or big stompy Mobile Suits, go for Assault Suits Valken (Cybernator). Absolutely class game.

Not much into SNES, but a personal favourite of mine is Battletoads :smt033
And the absolutely dirt-cheap Super Mario World (get the Allstars cartridge with the 8-bit marios and SMW) cant be missed, methinks :)

uh, you just kidding, no? did you ever try the unbelievable excellent "Akumajô Dracula X chi no rinne" on PC Engine DUO? :smt083

oke, you may say now, it was a 8 Bit console, so this is just the have truth, anyway the PCE is ordered in the MD, SFC era, no doubt^^

    Seiken Densetsu 3, isn't it?

Macross: Scrambled Valkyrie is a fantastic scrolling shooter, btw. Well worth picking up.

Tales of Phantasia is the best looking game of the 16 bit era I've ever seem. And it's quite a great game too, with a very different battle system.
I think it has many similarities in gameplay/graphics with Princess Crown for the Saturn

Nope, and by the way, Actraiser is not really part of the series. Just Soulblazer, Illusion of Gaia, and Terranigma.

Goldn Fighter ? You can't be serious? I'd rank that as one of the worst 16 bit fighters ever along with Super Bikuriman and Fist Of The North Star 5, 6 and 7. If you do get Golden Fighter then buy Golden Fighter Hyper Edition. Same game with a few nobs on.

LOL, I knew someone would pipe up over Golden Fighter :smt043

Honestly it's one of my favourite games, i don't play the 1 on 1 section, the main draw is the side scrolling Last Battle/FOTNS a-thon, the music is great. The controls are stiff as yuo like, it'sa just one of those things. I also like The Kung Fu A LOT.......your getting the picture :smt033

BTW madhatter256, Kirby 3 is "Hoshi No Kirby 3" (JAP) & "Kiby's Dreamland" (USA)
