So I'm picking up some of the older consoles which only have aerial connections (Colecovision, 7800 etc) and while my TV has an aerial port, the image that comes through is shocking. That, and I want to grab some consoles from forrin that don't have RGB (5200, Famicom etc), and my TV can't handle 60Hz. So I'm thinking a decent second-hand VHS player would be a good stopgap to play these in the UK until I am a millionaire and can have them all tweaked to generate RGB. Any recommendations, or tips as what to look out for? Is it difficult to set these old clangers up to transpose from NTSC to PAL? Thanks a lot guys
I've not seen VHS players that will convert NTSC to PAL via the RF pass-through, only from the actual VHS tape.
I remember I had a LG one (very cheap, cheap quality too) that could play both pal and ntsc tapes but I don't remember if it could do ntsc to pal "on the fly" I'd check this site and ask them if there's any device http://www.dvdoverseas.com/vcr.htm
