Recommend using a Dust Remover Spray Can to clean game consoles?

Alright, my game consoles have a lot of dust and lint inside the consoles and in the cartridge inserter (don't know the name, its where you put the game carts on.) I want to remove and clean them using a Spray Can like a dust remover. You know, like those same cans used for spraying the insides of a PC. Would you guys recommend that I do this? If so, what would I have to watch out for?

EDIT: Consoles include Genesis, PSone & PS2 Slim, Dreamcast, SNES, GCN, and Wii.

You know what I use every two weeks? The vacuum cleaner with a light brush attachment. I clean all my electrical gear with it including my PC Keyboard which is black yet not a speck of crap on it. just make sure that you put the vacuum in to low power mode when doing delicate areas and don't vacuum the laser on a console.

Agreed with Yakumo. Those PC dust blasting things are ok though... just make sure you shake the can well and use it in short bursts, otherwise it can spray vapour onto the electronics.

I believe with the PS3 you can hold down a button combo to run the fan test. This runs all fans full blast for a while and that can help blow out any dust from the heat sink and vents.

Switch the power switch (on the back of the unit) off, hold the eject button and flip the power switch on. Let go when the fan kicks in. It'll run for a moment then beep and the power LED will flash red. You'll have to switch power off then back on to play as normal.

Cans of air are a waste of money. Save your money and use another method. Hoovering is OK but you have to be careful with anti-static devices.

You can use a brush, but I would recommend an anti-static brush. Personally, I'd open them up, give them a brush with an anti-static brush, then use some anti-static foaming cleaner. Wipe that off and it'll take all the dirt with it... and the anti-staticness should act as a dust repellant for a while, too.
