You're welcome && glad to hear that.
If it's just that, the fix will be quick.

i think it was smaller in size than the one you have in your system. I will have to check when i get all my stuff together again, most of them are back in my home town now and it will take a while...

I also clearly remember that the connection between the gd-m portion of the devkit and my pc was messed up after i refitted the normal hdd again. I had to fire up a 32 bit version of windows and run DACheck from there in order to make sure everything was ok. The problem was very bizarre.

I've just received the new board revision, the version is passing from V6.02 to V6-Rev C. The board is different, e.g. there is a new capacitor now.

And guess what? Still no luck o_O
Just sent an email to Michael. Definitely I think it's a firmware problem...

Finally, Michael from codesrc sent me another SCSI2SD V6 board that is now compatible with the Dev. Box!
So my Dev. Kit is definitely back to life ! :)

    He's updated his compatibility page.

    Cool !
When the boads went back up, and I was repairing some links to this thread,
I was wondering if you had managed to make it work :)
Glad to see it all worked out.
Thanks for taking the risk for the devkit community :)
I'm planning to make some speed tests between the pc with a 2940/2940U (10MB) and with a 2940AU (20MB) scsi card, and the devkit to the RAM/HDD/SCSI2SD, so I'm curious as to what transfer speeds you are getting...

What revision is marked on your board ?
I see they are still selling revision C, with which you still had problems...

I can now confirm that the SCSI2SD V6 board i'm using is fully compatible with the Dev.Box, as I'm using it for several months without problems. So don't hesitate to buy it if your Katana has problems, it works like a charm with that!

The board is the V6.02 with an additional cap (the biggest on the right). The SD I'm using is a SanDisk Ultra Class 10 (40 MB/s) with a 8 GB size. As I'm using Windows XP (which is a Windows NT derivative), I'm using the whole SD card in a big 8 GB partition. As you might now, in Windows NT family, there is a bug: we can't use 2 partitions.

My Katana is configured like this since several months and everything is nice, with faster read/write times, so I'm really happy with it. :)

    @Mrneo240
GD Workshop - tool for virtual drive (GD-M), user can create disk image project and upload it to Katana unit GD-M, in HCD format
CD Craft - tool which create GD-R(OM) images into CIM format, later they can be written to GD-R for testing or sent to Sega for manufacture.
CIM Util - tool for converting HCD <-> CIM

you may find pretty much detailed documentation for each tool in Katana SDK Docs.

    Thanks for the info !
Unfortunately, it looks as if the versions they are selling today (still?) don't have this additional cap, so not sure if they support the devkits... I suppose contacting the creator is the only way to know...

@T_chan : Look at the bottom-left of the revision 'F' board here. That capacitor wasn't on any of the boards posted here, so instead of adding it to the existing debug header, it was added in properly with a board redesign.

Additional information about my SCSI2SD V6.02 setup:

Read/write speed rates (throught SCSI interface, copying a file into the Dev.Box from the Windows Explorer): 2,3 MB/s.
Left image is read action, and right is write action.

    Interesting, thanks !
Which SCSI card do you use ?

I've done a few tests with my devkit today:
    Tested with TeraCopy 3.26
    PC: Windows7 64bits, C2D E8500@3.16GHz 6GB RAM
    Dev.Kit: 5.24 model 670-13495A - GD-M 2.9 1b (BIOS 1.011, GD-DA 4.9 0a, SB_SBREV 0x0A)
SCSI2SD V5.0a with sandisk micro SD HC I class 4 52 150V6H8136 BH made in taiwan

    SCSI card Adaptec AHA-2940 BIOS v1.23 - sync negociation off on SCSI ID4 - 10.0 MB/s
    write of 1.36 GB to devkit: varies between 700k/s & 1.8 MB/s, mostly 1.2-1.4 MB/s
read of 1.27 GB from devkit: most of the time stable 1.2 MB/s (otherwise 600 - 1.8 MB/s)

    SCSI card Adaptec AHA-2940AU BIOS v1.34.2 - sync negociation off on SCSI ID4 - 20.0 MB/s
write of 1.36 GB to devkit: 1.4 MB/s stable nearly all the time
read of 1.27 GB from devkit: 1.2 MB/s stable nearly all the time

AHA-2940AU seems to have a slight advantage.
Unfortunately, I couldn't test with the original Seagate Medalist ST34520N...

V6 seems definitively to be an improvement :)

    SCSI2SD V5.1 works great on Katana Set4. I used a 8GB Sandisk Class10 SD card:
