Re-using authenticity stickers on game cases?

Does anyone know a good way to re-use those holographic authenticity stickers they sometimes stick to the front of jewel cases (i.e PS1 games)? Normally with stickers, you can heat them up and they peel off cleanly, but the holographic stickers seem to be very fragile and crumbly, probably by design. Any tips?

Jewel cases are much easier to clean than let's say it's on a carton box -> simply replace the jewel case, problem solved :applause:

No, you can use different techniques, like adding heat from a hair-dryer, just keep the melting temp. of the jewel-case in mind.

I usually add some heat and then try to scrape off the biggest part of the sticker with a plastic scraper that won't hurt the case.
After only some glue is left, you can easily dab off the reamining glue residues with duct tape e.g. until nothing of the glue is left.

I think he's asking how to remove the stickers intact, rather than simply removing them.

Er, I'm looking to re-use the sticker to put it on a fresh jewel case. What you're describing sounds like how to remove the sticker from the case with no regard for the sticker's safety :p

    I am.

I'm not really sure. As you said, the hologram stickers are usually used for authenticity and are designed to be very difficult (impossible?) to remove intact. I can't recall ever managing to get one off in one piece, although I don't think I've ever really tried to...

If it's an issue for you, sell it and get an undamaged copy.

It's really hard to find cases that aren't covered in scratches. You can replace the cases with new ones, but they're missing the sticker. They still look fine, but it'd be nice if they had them.

    Buy sealed!

I don't know what you guys do to your games, but there are tons of lovely condition PlayStation games here.

It's not what I do, it's everyone else :\ Cracked cases are quite common. Woulden't sealed games be very rare, even on Playstation?

Hmmmm. Kinda cheap I guess. I went to a second hand store and they have some $3 PS1 games in cases. They're used so they're scratched, but they would be a good source for cases if I get anymore cracked ones. kinda a happy medium. Still, it's very tempting to just replace the cases with shiny new CD jewel cases, but my OCD would be driven mad without the sticker :p

I'd recommend keeping the damage jewel case with sticker intact, because I don't think you'll have much luck transplanting them.

Use a hair dryer or heat gun and an xacto knife. I understand your pain, one of my favorite video game stores has a no sticker OCD thing going on. Because of that good luck finding a truly complete EU import PSP game there.

Yeah, I think that's my only option. Surprised there's no reproduction stickers.
