Hi everyone, I write this to share my struggle

I usually perform rgb bypass with ths7314 for consoles like n64 or 1chip snes, drama is I have to use few of them before finding one that works. In most cases I got black screen so have to change ths7314 and is always a struggle having to solderin them on the soic adapter etc.

I'm pretty good at solderin but is a waste of time , sometimes it happens I have to do 5 or 6 chips before got right result

don't know if I have a defective batch or I'm doin something wrong like using temperature too hot in order to fry them

can share your experience with those chips? maybe you can help me findin the right way..thanks!

Are you maybe forgetting to add the 100nF cap?

Measure your chips for internal shorts. I had one bad ths7314 before, out of 3.

Yes, with your meter. On my broken one, I had continuity between Vcc and 2 of the output (or input, forgot which) pins.
Basically check if any of the in/outputs are connected to Vcc or ground. If they are, the chip is fried.

Well, at least you know now which shop to avoid. Care to tell us where you got your batch?

Order them from a reputable company like mouser or digikey. I used to buy them off eBay but stopped after getting bad ones. Have not had a bad one since.
