I like Hard Off as every so often they do have some nice things in there, especially old Japanese computers. Video Game wise they are a bit hit and miss as you will find things at different prices in different hard off stores for the same thing and sometimes they can be more expensive then going to Akihabara and buying the same thing.

As I love cycling, I would like to know if there are any other recycle store chains I should find and visit? Ones that might have decent range of old computer, video games and musical equipment (did see a Roland TB-303 in a Hard Off once, once I picked myself off the ground I then noticed the 6 figure price... what makes it funnier was it was in the junk section....).

I don't know about Tokyo but we have Manga Soko, Chameleon Club Recycle Store (not the game store) and err, that's about it for the big chain ones.

that's a hobby of mine as well. hard offs, neo, get, var. recycle stores etc..

unfortunately, those shops getting more and more worse regarding to the good junk offers. it seems that the hard off chain tries to change its image recently!

I'd love to go to that sort of thing in Japan.

Heck, I'd love to go to one in the UK if we even had any equivalents.

I thought Hard off was horribly overpriced in my little town, the used goods store around the corner was 1/3 of it's price!

We have 4 or 5 junk / recycle shops in Valencia. Some things I've got (1 peseta = 1 yen):

    - Mega CD 2 + AC adapter + Road Avenger (complete in box) for 2000 PTA (bargain).
    - Mega Drive 1 + AC adapter + RF cable + Mega Games 2 (in box) for 1600 PTA.
    - Mega Drive 2 + AC adaptor + RF cable + Sonic (in box) for 2000 PTA.
    - Nintendo 64 + AC adaptor + AV cable + Mario 64 (no box) for 3000 PTA
    - Virtua Striker 2 JAP for DC complete, no spine 2€ (300 PTA).
    - Taiko no Tatsujin Potaburu 2 for PSP JAP complete for 14€ (2000 PTA).
    - Winning Eleven 9 for PSP ASIA complete for 20€ (1 week after release, 3000 PTA).
    - Sonic & Knuckles complete in box, PAL, good condition, for 9€. (1200 PTA).
    - SEGA Saturn PAL, black first model, + Sonic CD + AC + RF + PAD + Steering Wheel for 6000 PTA (37€, quite a bargain seeing how loose PAL units go up to 50€ / 60€).

The Saturn sold like shit in Spain, you can get a PSX or N64 for 10 euros at any recycle shop or for 30 or 40 euros boxed with manual and stuff in good shops but Saturns are really rare. Anyway, that Saturn died and now I have a grey JP unit. :020:

no. What are we looking for? The text on the price tags is a bit blurry to read.
