I have a Game Axe with a smashed backlight tube so it only works via the TV at present. I'd like to add some LEDs to replace the power hungry tube but have no idea regarding voltages and what resistors I'd need. Has anyone any info that could help? Has anyone done such a mod? I know these things have been totally superseded but I'd still like to bring the thing back to fully working order.
...Or to rectify the poor quality Game Axe screen I could replace it in a Sega Nomad style screen replacement mod. The consoles are broadly similar and it should work, I'll just have to find the relevant 5v, ground, video & common solder points.
New 3.5" TFT LCD now in Game Axe and working fine. Really easy mod - very similar to Nomad LCD mod (same AV out solder points just different power & ground for 9v side). I'll post pics soon.
If you want to replace your blurry old Game Axe LCD with a nice new high-res one, here's my guide how: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e8_yvle68rI
