So I have never had a PAL MD cart but plenty of Genesis carts and a few Japanese MD carts. I am having a cart sent to me for the Everdrive but I am curious if it is more like the Genesis or Megadrive carts from Japan? I ask as I am not sure I want to file the cart slots on my US 32X and model 2 Genesis as they work great with the Megakey function but I don't have the adapter to use the official 32X cable on my model 1 Megadrive. I bought a third party one but the static I got from the el cheapo unsheilded plastic. So I would prefer to stay with my model 1 Genny, NTSC-U 32X, and Mega CD model 1. So I am hoping the PAL MD carts will just fit into my Genesis without alteration. I did a google search and some say yes others say no so I figured I would come here to get a straight answer.

Get a standard US model cart. In fact, I have an empty shell if you're interested in it. Label removed and all. The Everdrive MD and Mega Everdrive were designed for use in a standard US cart. Not sure about the PCB fitting in PAL or JAP carts. Since you have a USA model, a USA cart shell is all you need. As stated, I have an empty cart shell you can have for price of shipping.

I thought US/PAL carts are identical molds, and that's what Everdrive was optimized for? The flash cart's designer is from Europe after all. Unlikely it'd have been intended to fit a Japan shell.

My suggestion then: Get an SD card or adapter in the slot for it on ED PCB. Line the holes in PCB up with shell screw holes on front side. Carefully mark the location of the SD card and button. Now cut those locations slowly and carefully. Take out only a bit at a time. Check for fitment often. Once the holes are large enough, carefully sand the edges down to make then straight and smooth. My EDMD I cut my own case for:

The screw posts are the same size and in the same positions like they are in the American/European shell and I've actually seen people use Japanese shells for their Everdrives. In fact, it'll even fit in a Sunsoft shell: http://tinyurl.com/9otlnwv
