Registering a domain name, which is better?

So I finally got a good name thats not registered, but I'm not sure which company is better to register it.

On one side, register.com

On the other, godaddy.com

So, which one is better/offers a better legal security?

 

in the past ive gone with Go Daddy not had any complaints.

I used Godaddy. It seemed fine for me.

 

I'd spend the extra few dollars and go with Network Solutions... I've gotten crap mail (both junk mail and spam) since registering a domain with GoDaddy.

 

So they have a crappy antispam?

Anyway, what about register.com? any references?

 

all I now is that I registerd a domain with them when I was ~14 iirc and some month later a company from the Netherlands phones my parents and asks for me.. when I answer they ask if I own that domain that I had registered and then asks if I want to donate money..
Not something you expect to happen when your 14.

 

So they wanted you to donate money? weird, usually a company would call you to buy the domain...

 

I've gotten ad's from them email wise, but I just unsuscribed. Junk mail, I've gotten I think 2 ad's from them in my box. Kinf of annoying, but ah well.

 

Depends where you're from, I'm from the UK and always use ukreg.com - I once used Godaddy but their hosting was shit so I sacked them off and moved my domain to my ukreg account.

 

i use http://www.namecheap.com for everything. cheapest around, and no problems in 3 years.

 

i used register.it (guess it's the same as register.com) worked perfectly.
