Registering a domain - which company?

I'm looking to register a domain but really can't decide which registrar to use. Each seems to come with their fair share of horror stories - Go Daddy, 123-Reg, 1&1 etc.

Can anyone recommend a company based on personal experience? At the moment I'm leaning towards 123-Reg, 1&1 or NameCheap. Hosting will be sorted later and probably independently so at the moment I'm just looking for a reliable registrar.

 

Namecheap is my favorite, personally.

 

I used one.com last time and they where pretty good, another one I recommend is iPowerweb.com are also pretty good, never had a bad experiance with either company.

 

I'm registering all my Domain Names myself, they work immediately.
