Here we go - my first public release and a fairly useless one at that.

    Build date/size:
This build is dated april, 27th 2005,
    unpacked size is 287mb.

Pictures/Video: None at this point, see below.

What hardware do I need to run this on?
The executable is from the Alpha-hardware stage, however it is uncertain whether it will run on any Alpha kit,
so far it's been tried on 2 and jumped straight back to the launcher. These kits may have been running on too early of a recovery.

    What is it?
Good question. It may be the E3 2005 build or at least a close predecessor of that. Just speculation at this point, though.
As previously pointed out, it doesn't run on any hardware that I had a chance to try it on/had someone try it on.
All thats known as of today is that it is an executable as used during the Alpha-hardware stage.

All in all there seem to have been 4 types of executables, identifiable by their file extension and/or the ASCII string at the beginning of the file:

    Alpha:
*exe/MZ and says "This program cannot be run in DOS mode" when opened in any Hex Editor.

    Beta1 (pre-1888.0):
*exe/XEX1 or *exe/XEX- [there may also be *xex XEX1 executables, I just never encountered them]

    Beta2/Final:
    *xex/XEX2

Just so you know, I got this build on some (not an Alpha kit) hardware I obtained years ago,
this was likely loaded onto this very piece of hardware by mistake, as this very kit had only been used briefly during the transition from Alpha to Beta hardware.

Why the heck would you upload something this useless?
Simple, first of all this is such an early X360 build (is there any other build from the G5-era out there, at all?)& it may have some value to somebody just because of that,
second I hope that somebody manages to get this build to run on whatever kit and may share a video or screenshots.

    Where's the link?

If anybody has to report any findings or manages to run it, I'd very much appreciate if that person wrote a post about it in this thread ;)
    Discussion is welcome, too, obviously.

Great release! I actually played this demo back in the day at E3 and was my first time playing X360, so it's quite nostalgic seeing these files getting out there. Hopefully someone can put them to good use!

I tried it on an XeDK running 1838 without success, but still a nice piece to archive. Thanks for the link!

I'd tried running it on all the Beta1 kits I had, with the following recoveries:
    1640
    1746.1
    1838.1
    1839.2

The Alpha Kits I had a chance to test it on were both on 2.0.1029.1, with one having an 1st rev video card, the other with a 2nd rev video card.

But as previously mentioned, judging from the executable it has been compiled for an Alpha kit,
hence it'd have been more than surprising if it ran on a Beta Kit.

Yeah, I just wanted to try and see. But with the XeDK Beta 1, it wouldn't even show up in the Launcher for me.

That's weird. I got it off of a Beta 1, running 1640, showed up there and IIRC also on the kits with later recoveries.

No luck in a retail with devkit nand, is there any way to convert into a .exe XEX one?

Also, there are .dds textures that i've converted with DDS to JPG

The Pseudo logo used in the microsoft GDC 2004 Saleen Car Crash, which was another variant to the original cartoony logo for Cel Damage

And this one, which was featured on their website till the closure

    An early FA logo

The control inputs, seems like from the original Xbox

The Alpha towers shipped with original Xbox S-Type controller with a Xbox to USB adapter to use on the G5.

Apologies for the bump, but I got some stuff to add.
There's some real funny stuff in the .exe. A bunch of Star Wars related dialog and some text that looks to be from Cel Damage. Then again, in smallf.dat the entire text directory for Cel Damage is there.
