    Hey all,
I use electrolytic caps a lot and I'm looking for a good source of just a bag or bin of them in different values from 0.1uf - roughly 10000uf. I know the ones on ebay are notorious for being re-branded knockoffs. Anyone have good luck with ones that will last in our old consoles?

It's not what you're asking, but console5 sells nice kits per system for pretty cheap. Also not what you're asking, but if you hand pick on digikey, they have nice caps at nice prices. I recapped a 3do fz-1 that had what I considered a huge cap at 6000uf(I think), so I'm not sure what you're planning, except being prepared. I would think a huge random grab bag would have crummy pieces.

Yeah, I'm basically trying to be repaired. I do recap work alllll the time and it no longer makes sense to keep ordering cap kits or picking them off boards. I really want a grab bag with high-quality parts, preferably a large assortment of around 100 reliable ones.

Also, cap kits can be really bad too....they are cutting a lot of costs with those and I've had new ones fail on install before. That's another reason why I want to source good reliable ones.

I bought all the values I needed from Amazon and Ebay for cheap and I got 100s of them lol. Some are good brands like Panasonic, and others don't have brands on them. But I check a lot of them with my multimeter and they're all within spec, so I'm not too worried about them.

If you're using that many then you can be sure you're getting quality parts and get a better price by buying in bulk from a distributor. You'll probably have to buy a whole reel so you may only want to do this for the ones that actually go bad.
