Sad but true poem. Maybe its me but there seems to be less and less red poppys being worn then used to be. Are people forgetting?
You don't see anyone remembering the boer wars, so sadly yes. When people die, memory and remembrance do as well.
The Boer wars never engulfed the world, the world wars did. Thats what sets aside them for the others. ALso Remembrance Sunday is for every fallen solider in every war.
We might get another WW, fascism is on the rise again, in both sides this time, yet people seem oblivious to it, just like they were to the first wave 70 years ago...
Yeah right. The real threat is socialists, always have been, always will be. Communists in particular are dangerous. Fascists are a very small minority and (because of that?) rarely commit a terrorist attempt. Socialists on the other hand? There have been one clear example just this week, in fact.
My bad. Though, in essence, I agreed with shadowlayer, a new WW is never impossible. All it takes is forgetting about history...
