I have a rather unique problem. I have a TV that outputs only digital (toslink) audio, and a speaker system (Klipsch) with a headphone adapter. I have an adapter which allows me to take the digital output and convert it into an analog one which can be used with the speaker system. The problem with this setup is that I can't control the volume level with the TV remote (toslink does not allow alteration of volume) and my speakers don't have a remote volume control. So, as it is, I have to get up every time I want to change the volume. This gets rather annoying. The advantage of this setup is that it is very compact and easy to move around. The downside is, obviously, that I can't change the volume remotely. So, what I'm wondering is if there is some kind of device that will take a headphone output and allow you to change its volume with an IR remote and then output the result to another headphone adapter. I've looked around a bit and have not been able to find such a device. Has anyone on this forum heard of one?
Yes, that's basically what I want, but I don't think I want that particular one because it says you have to assemble it and solder it together, and you also have to buy a separate $40 remote for it. I should also mention that device itself doesn't need to have headphone (miniplug) connectors. RCA connectors would work just as well since I have adapters for that.
This should do the trick http://www.keene.co.uk/electronic/k...e-electronics-volume-remote-control/VRCE.html
