I've got those two games on my psp go and the godawful HORRIFIC voice acting is actively getting in the way of my enjoyment. Is there any way I can get rid of that auditive diarrhea? I'm talking using some kinda utility to mess inside the image file and do whatever it takes to delete the audio files or replace them with pure silence.
IrShell allowed to disable certain audio channels, but i dont know if it really worked that way. And the last compatible FW was the 5.00 M33-6, i think.
That's odd that it bothers you that much. I can't recall but I can see MMPU maybe being annoying, but I thought MMMHX had good voice acting for the most part. The voice files could actually be located inside of a pack file making it harder to remove the voice acting.
I know when to enjoy bad voice acting (I genuinely love castlevania symphony of the night's terrible voice acting), but when even sting chameleon sounds like scratch from adventures of sonic the hedgehog and he goes all NYEH NYEHNYEH NYEH NYEH NYEEEEH during the boss battle, it makes my ears ask me what they did to me to ever deserve this.
You are definitely not alone. This actually ruined the experience for me, & Megaman X is one of my favorite games of all time. Have been waiting since it it's release for a decent PSP emulator & the ability to remove these files until I would ever touch it again.
Is the voice acting region specific? Maybe the Japanese Rockman equivalents have better/less annoying voice-overs.
There's a program called UMDGen v4.00 that lets you view and edit the contents of a PSP iso. Not sure what the file structure of the game is though. It could be real easy or a real pain in the ass to remove. Alternately, like Eviltaco64 pointed out, you could also just get a copy of the Japanese version, but it could be even more annoying for all I know.
Voice acting in Japanese is better for Japanese games such as these, so there's an option. And there's no in-game option to turn the voices off or any of the sort? I have both games (in both JP and US I might add), but it's been many years.
