Hey guys, have any of you ever made "backups" for your movies to your devices or PS3 and you wanted to test it out & watch but sometimes get the Cinavia audio track muted error code popped up? because, i was testing out a movie that i got from Redbox and wanted to create a backup for the movie but unsure what softwares people used to remove it's watermarked audio track. If this question is violating the rules of the site then i sincerely apologise and promise to not let it happen again. and/or just PM me the details if you like ;)

I haven't been able to get passed it. Also it's random on what movies it shows up on. I think it's just a frustrating limitation that exists with ps3 divx playback.

If you have a low firmware ps3 you could look into soft modding it. I wouldn't be surprised if they have gotten around the limitation with cfw but its worth checking out.

I'd suggest it'd be easier and quicker to just download the film.

Won't work, Cinavia's protection is embedded in the audio-track which is platform independent. So when you have a show / movie which is protected by Cinavia and you make or download a copy, it won't play on any device which implemented the Cinavia protection regardless of it being a ISO/BD/MKV/AVI etc.

How about if i just used PS3 Media server to run my backups instead since copying it to the PS3 won't work and also i've read up that it disables the cinivia issue i believe edit: I did heard DVD Ranger CineHD was another way of doing it but you'll need to pay/unlock it to get full use out of it :/

Streaming Cinavia protected material to the PS3 will result in the same errors, the only way to play said content is either play the original or use some trickery (Apparently there are some programs out there which exploit some function on the PS3 to play Cinavia protected copies on BDR without triggering the protection, don't have any leads on this one but Google is your friend)

Apparently it has been cracked recently by the developers of a software program called DVD-Ranger CinEx HD.
More detailed info here https://torrentfreak.com/dvd-ranger-cracks-unbeatable-cinavia-anti-piracy-system-140524/ and here http://www.cinexhd.com/dvdranger/
    To quote from their FAQ:
PS: Just to avoid speculation and other things; I'm not affiliated in any way with that program and/or the developers nor I've tried it yet.

@Yuk I've tried their trial version and it barely worked, having their program watermark logo in the middle of the freaking screen lol but even though it would be cool if anyone has a Full Version of it instead or if it were freeware (which would be much better imho)

That's quite ironic since it is a program that allow you to remove a watermark (Cinavia).
Unfortunately at the moment there isn't an alternative software for the job (free or paid solution), there is a non scene release labeled as "DVD-Ranger.v6.0.2.4.CinEx.HD.Patch.REPT" but as I'm writing is quite old since the latest release is 6.1.1.4.
Also VirusTotal scan result give a really high virus detection ratio

Can it be upgradable off from the cracked version right? I mean I could've gotten it if it doesn't have the highly contagious virus perhaps.

Just run whatever you want inside a VM and copy your final product out when your finished. Pretty much protects you from any kind of virus issue.

@Trenton_net Thanks for the advice! even though, i may have my solution fixed after all with using PS3 Media Server/Universial Media Server that actually does patch up the cinavia protection and i believe i do know how it was done. So now basically since i have no choice but to stream the "Backup Movies" from my Windows XP to the PS3 vise versa, it's THE only method of bypassing them at the moment!
