Hey there, to be honest I just joined the scene this year and after digging through quite recent and older threads, I wasn't able to come to a conclusion. I'm looking for a device/software-solution to back up my save games from original cartridges - for emulator (PSP/PC) and Everdrive-use. The conditions are the following: - Ideal price under 50-75 dollar/euro - Works with Windows 7 or higher - Works with (nearly) every GB/GBC/GBA cartridge - Can backup saves and is capable of kicking 'em back to the cartridge Solutions I found: - Mega Memory with USB Smart Card -> Quite expensive - Retrode -> Is reported as not reliable on all GB(/C/A) cartridges - Smartboy -> Should work, stock unknown - Transferer 2 -> Compatibility to newer GBA cartridges not clearly determined (SRAM/EEPROM); Unknown if working with USB-Adapter under Win7/10 Can you help me out with your experience? Edit: Another possible solution I found: Would it be possible to transfer the saves from an original cartridge to the Everdrive, via a Transferer Machine (here) and thus from the Everdrive to a PC? Regards [Keksdose]
BennVenn's reader/writer is the item to get. Check the site for a re-stock announcement. http://bennvenn.myshopify.com
Looks really good. Did I get the functionality right? It can read out saves/roms from the cartridges and write them back to writable ones. The only other device I could possibly need would be an empty cartridge to get all my games in one place.
