Does anyone know if anybody has fully translated Rent A Hero on mega drive or dreamcast? I played a little of both, the only problem is i can't read a lik of japanese, In most games I can figure it out, but these games are heavy on Japanese reading.
ive considered doing the dreamcast version, though have no translator lined up for it if I do, do it.
There are two guides for the Dreamcast game over at http://www.gamefaqs.com One of them isn't too good though. I used the one that also give the Japanese text for the menues as you'll need to know what they say since they never apear in the same order twice. Yakumo
I've use that one Yakumo, problem is theres a point in the guide that, unless you know some japanese, you pretty much get stuck.
Yeah I've actually played that version, I talked to the guy that runs eidlonns inn and he says they're sadly not going to finish the translation.Thats great to hear purge, this game is a classic, and I highly doubt the x-box version will be released here (its on tba now and i hear sega is not allowing them to release it at the moment,doesn't matter that much to me since i dont own an x-box) But hopefully more english translation of dc games happen since right now all thats avaliable are german ones.
ive used one of the guides at gamefaqs. it was very detailed, but humor scemes to be a foundation of this games playablity, so it didnt hold my interest for long. its pretty damned hard to convey humor when somthings translated literaly. purge, waht else are you thinking of translating? i immagine this will be a hell of a lot easyer to translate than SC5, RAH1 having text dialog and all.
I've been looking forward to the XBOX version and from what I've seen and heard, it's done/ready to ship, but constantly gets delayed. It's been reviewed by some mags even and humorously enough, last summer I saw a mock-up box with insert in the coming soon shelf at my local EB. Why isn't it getting released, does anyone know why?
re I've heard the English translation of the Xbox Rent-A-Hero was cancelled, but I don't remember where from. From previous posts, though, it looks as though it may come through...
Well, it's gone from the EBGames site, but strangely enough, Gamestop has it listed incorrectly as "Back Ordered" for $19.99. :smt017 http://www.gamestop.com/product.asp?product_id=950478 I do believe it DID make it out on the Japanese XBOX (per NCSX), but sadly, at this point in time, a US release is probably not going to happen. Damn shame too. :smt019
