Repair of dead Sega Mega CD 1

    Well, the front panel is just a cosmetic item, doesn't it? There're no buttons there...

    Poor Mega CD ripped of his front!!! Is it a jap or Pal version? The first thing I would check on this machine is the fuse they can easily go wrong. Make sure you have the right power supply too it is very sensitive to that.

    Then in terms of repair it would depend on the symptons it presents, does it do anything? It might be valuable to take a picture of the main board to check any burns or craked/blown condenser, and the other side for any loose soldering, check the soldering on the power plug it can be become loose other time, that's how I saved one my genesis.

    It is a Pal Mega CD. Where is the fuse lokated on this fellow? I have repaired a model 2 by changing the fuse.

    Now it works. The twist tie just had to be adjusted... I just need a new fuse then :)
