Suspect I already know what the problem is but wonder if anyone else has come across this one?

While back I repaired my Game Gear changing most of the caps, it now plays and reads all Sega cartridge games fine, one thing I had to do was correct the cart reader pins as they had been pushed to far back and would read any cartridges.

Now for whatever reason Codemasters used their own design of game gear cartridges. As a result the seating of the cartridge is slightly different. I notice when I put the Codemasters cartridge in there is a lot less resistance from the pins, I guessing the cart reading pins inside the gear need pulling further forward. (It may just be one or two of the pins but guessing which one is the tricky part.

The game works find on another system. Annoylying I would unscrew the cartridge but the screw in the Codemasters cartridge is behind the game sticker!

Yes, the most likely thing that is happening is that it doesn't have contact with one or more pins.
