A while back I acquired a Model 1 with VF. There are all the boards minus the filter board(which I am getting soon). Anyway I've seen pictures and there are a few things which I fail to understand. The cables on the control board don't match the cables coming off the the joystick and buttons which are square with 9 pins. I can't figure out how these connect.
Aside from that I am looking for what power supply would be required and what screen I would be looking for. There are no guides for this on the internet and the manual lends very little as to how it should be setup.
Thanks for the help even though I'm sure these aren't very hard questions.

Could someone give me a link for the monitor.
I was looking through the schematics and i noticed a few things the switch bracket assembly is missing and i've never seen that anywhere. Another thing is that the schematic says the joystick connects to the filter board but the filter board has a line of pins, the connection from the joystick is a block so i'm wondering if there is something between the two.
    Thanks for the help.

Apart from the main cage board (which has 3 boards, 2 full size and one rom board) there are a couple of filter boards, an amp and the sound board, there is also the PSU too. Basically the inside of a VF1 machine doesn't look very pretty with the number of cables and boards around the place. I have a VF1 machine working but I won't have any time for a while to look at it, but you will need a medium resolution (25Khz monitor).

Yup, the monitor is a medium resolution as has been said before. Any should do - I can't remember the exact model or size used, although as I mentioned before there were a couple of different cabinets and I can't remember if they had different sized monitors. If you could post some pics of your cab and boards, it would aid us in helping you.

Did you look at the pictures I linked to? That's a Model 1 setup. The second link is a VF cage. Is yours incomplete?

No i don't have a cage yet, waiting on one, but no where in the pics or in any i've found does it show the joysticks connected to the boards in any way. There are few pictures of any model 1 setups on the net, mstly just the boards and wht they look like. The only thing I'm missing is the filter board, and a couple of cables dealing with the sound board, which at the moment aren't my biggest concern, I would like a running game sound can wait.

The board on the right is the I/O board. You have that? Follow the cables from that - they go to the chassis. That's where the joystick plugs in.
