Replace GD-ROM with Flash Card?

    You know, if simplistic hardware is what you wanted what about this concept:

    A TTL 3V to Synthetic (chip) CDC USB (Serial RS-232 Emulation) at Unnatural baud speeds.

    Something like this:

    but with a DC Serial port connector instead...

    Then connect it to a Host/Server PC system, and write a ton of software to support it.

    Then you can just use the host to support the DC - and load from any source imaginable. (Also - maybe real-time debugging too, just-for-fun!)

    sio speed is limited t0 1 mb. i plan use ft2232 on my board - 10..40mb/s )) it has also dual port: first- for xfer, secnd for confiuraton spi/jtag and etc.

    The DC serial port needs to be able to keep up too. Its not just how fast you can send data, its how fast it can accept it.

    What happend to this Thread?
    I kept reading right through it and wass very interested in this thing.
    Has anyone done it yet, so it can be rebuilt ?
