What a difference a working Saturn makes, after all the problems I had with my first ever Saturn I was about to give up hope. Well I found one at my local game store for 39.00 and this one has the round buttons , I think someone just traded in the console only because it had 3ed party cables and power cord with it. Also I bet the person got rid of it because it did not save games and did not know to change the battery. I still have problems with Shining Force III, I cleaned the disc and I see no pin holes or anything else wrong with it but to play it I need to put the disc in first and then power up the Saturn to to make the disc load, if I power up the Saturn first and then set the disc in and close the lid the only thing it does is read the disc like its a music cd showing the time and number of tracks. I sure wish someone could explain this. I got the game off of ebay and it has the buyer protection so I can get my money back but I want this game bad and hope to figure this out. The person I bought the game from has a great ebay track record but deals in womans goods so maybe it was her sons game. Other then that im very happy with the Saturn, Oh one more thing, is it a must to own a ram cart ?
Yeah, get a RAM card, especially if you want to play RPGs. The savegames from Virtua Fighter 2 and Nights alone chew up almost all of your internal memory Moreover, when you replace the battery you'll lose your internal savegames unless you carefully change it while the system is running... I wouldn't go for a 3rd party card though. And with regard to the disc, it might be the security ring (round the outside) that is damaged. That or both your Saturns have lens problems.
That sounds good but where the hell do I get one in the USA and will it work with US model?? Could find nothing on ebay but the memory plus units and the action replay.
