So my PSP's battery (3002 model) has swollen up like the corpse of a Mafia informant and I'm gonna need a new one. There's a lot to choose from, but I suspect a lot of it is cheap Chinese junk. Does anyone know where to get good batteries for a good price? One that won't swell up maybe?

And since I need a new battery I was thinking about modding, since you use a special battery to mod the PSP right? I'm not interested in pirate games, and the PSP is region-free anyway, so I'm not sure what benefits I'd get out of a modded PSP.

You don't need a modded battery anymore, apparently that is only old school or if you royally fck up.

All the info you need should be here.

and for date codes and whatnot (not really an issue with a 3000 though)

I use an early PSP2000 (std black) for my hackzors. It was easy though, I initially sent it away and it got CFW 5.33 (something like that) and then I updated it to the latest which was a simple matter of updating it with the latest OFW (Official FirmWare) and then over write that with the latest CFW (Custom FirmWare). Now if I can do it matey, anyone can do it!

I also have a silver (God of War) PSP2000 which could have also been modified as well.

As for the battery, NFI as the one in my silver PSP swelled (luckily it wasn't in at the time) but I do have an aftermarket battery in it that I got a while ago and it acts weird. It is charged but it doesn't show on the screen that it is.

I also reccomend this (allthough I have 64GB)
