I'd be upgrading my Nividia GeForce 8400GS to a Nividia GeForce 9600GT I was just wondering if I should uninstall my Graphics Card Drivers for the 8400GS first before installing my 9600GT? Or uninstall them after inserting in the new Graphics Card.

    Thanks!

Uninstall the drivers and to avoid problems all NVIDIA software you find in your 'Software' listing. Then change cards and install the newest drivers (and additional NVIDIA software if you want any).

I'd say uninstall the old Nvidia drivers first before inserting the new card using a program like Driver sweeper preferably, That way you can then download the latest drivers from the web, install the new card and you know there shouldn't be any problems.

I always uninstall old drivers first before installing new components so i can be certain that i won't get any problems from the drivers i had originally installed.

There are no problems with having old Nvidia drivers installed when you boot up the new card.

I replaced my old 8500GT for a 9500GT a year ago and I didn't need to install any drivers at all, Nvidia makes their drivers for a huge range of cards.

I'm pretty sure Nvidia keeps supporting 8-series cards in their new Forceware releases, in that case you won't even need to update the graphics to make the card work.
