Hi, I dropped a Samsung Galaxy S3 and the glass screen cover cracked. The actual touch screen underneath works fine and I've seen many tutorials on YouTube on how to fix the screen cover. Does anyone here have experience with replacing the glass on an S3 or similar phone? Any suppliers for replacement screens and tools on eBay/Amazon you would recommend? One thing I couldn't understand is that after removing the glass, you have to scrape off residual glue. However, I don't remember any tutorial applying new glue before fitting a new glass cover. Does anyone know why this is so?
I believe the digitizer and glass is one unit like the iPhones. It should be easy to just find a replacement kit on eBay and follow a tutorial. If not, best to pay for a service...
u can change the lens but make sure u use the glue and dont use double sided tape to stick it back because the glass touchs the lcd when u use it the phone stops responding so if some repairs in a shop make sure they use the glue and dont rip u off the glue u use u have to use a uv light to dry it http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/UV-LOCA-l...K_Replacement_Parts_Tools&hash=item27d7e6cde9 but im sure the proper Samsung lens on the phone is gorilla glass and the 1s u get off the net are just normal glass from china http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ANL9MgegXKk (thats a repair with the glue)
